I'm sorry if this is documented somewhere else.

What area is supposed to be represented by the new MTO map in 409? I'm trying to work it out for myself but I thought someone might be in the know.

Thanks for any help.

It is fantasy, but if you squint your eyes, it kinda looks like a small-scale N. Africa, Sicily and Crete.

And Peloponnes. wink In fact its Siciloponnes.

Sorry! I planed a readme like for the other map too, but the time was too low for that.
I will do it ASAP. No sightseeing guide though, but at least an introduction, some hints and screens of the airfields for mission builders.

It certainly is a scaled down version of Crete but when I flew to Aghios Nikolaos to see my favourite taverna it wasn't modelled in.

Very disappointing. biggrin

I would have taken the MTO map into my Google maps, if they had relation to real world area in scale.

So I only added Slovakia and Bessarabia:

Airway,

That's a great link, However, the text for your Wake Island Map is incorrect. It says:

'Approximately this area is covered by the ingame Normandy map'

Also, your 'Moskow' Map is spelled incorrectly. (Moscow)

Same is certainly true of Italy Online.

Its a WW2 map... your taverna wasn't just existing back then. biggrin

Beleave me, I'm the first one, who is sad, that we were(are) not allowed to make realsize maps of MTO. But I think, it still has come to a very good result at this circumstances.
The MTO map is very usefull.

I must have missed something a while back.
Can/Will you tell me the reason why you aren't allowed to make them full real size ?

This map was done before the mod "oppening" (I'm still amazed peoples forget that third party development, aka "modding" was a way largelly used for planes, maps, etc... long before the "free modding" hodgepodge....)
At that time, map makers should have Oleg's authorisation to work. And this authorisation was assorted with some restrictions.

Couldn't say it better. And about the reason for restrictions we can only speculate - I suppose a connection to SoW development.

However, it makes me said, that some ignorant people now harvest, what we have seeded - just because we tried to do our best at legal basics.
