Just 16v16, no AI, unless someone drops then AI takes their place.

I see.

What would be the actual body count in a maxed-out coop match then (players and all AI troopers combined)?

Dunno, I thought the max human players for coop was 4 on all systems. I think the game is limited to 63 AI units on the map at once but units can be despawned and replaced by the editor to make it seem like there are more. So I guess it would be 63 max on the screen at once.

Yes, units will spawn and despawn when they're no longer within a certain range, and thus probably not active. Once you get closer to them, they'll spawn again. I think that's a good thing, it keeps performance up but you won't *really* notice.

Glad you're enjoying it Mag - are you pleasantly surprised? Jeevz, are you?

YES! I just checked the specs and my old arse PC can play it.
I used to always pick the first one up look at the specs then frown and put it back on the shelf. I hated that and now I'm back in that boat with other games. I need a new PC badly.

I think it's freakin fantastic, like I said before, my one and only real wish is some form of editor for the consoles.

Nice write up!
I liked the controls (360, not PC) and thought it was fairly intuitive. Took no time to get used to, other than remembering one button for "support" and another for "quick commands". Commands don't take too long to issue, and if you're in a very tight spot, then it seems realistic to make commands a little more hectic. wink
I like the movement on foot, however vehicles could be better. Bugs me not being able to look around when driving, I don't like tunnel-vision. Even as a passenger you can't look around unless you're on the gun (speaking of riding in technicals/jeeps here). At this point that's my only real complaint, which I see as minor over all.
Like I said in the console forum, there is a point where simulation games go from "entertainment" to "training" and get overly dry. This game is placed just right on the top end of entertainment. You certainly can't just run around stupidly or you'll quickly die, but you don't feel like you're in a robotic trainer either.

I only played the first mission but I think not. I spent over and hour and a half on the first mission and took my time. I went to the objective, off to the side, over to that foothill, down into the coastal town area back out in a jeep, over to a foothill in the jeep, got engaged so turned around and headed back off in some other direction. Now I didn't try traveling miles but I did not feel restricted in any way.

Same here Jeevz though I only played the first mission. While trying to learn and taking small steps, I used my sqauad, I picked up ammo from crates and off of bad guys. I reloaded multiple times throughout the course of mission one but never ran out of ammo. Now I don't know how much I had left but I did engage the enemy several times and had seven kills myself for the first mission.

One thing I found was to more or less ignore the waypoints they put on the screen. Do your own thing and go wide, take them as general direction only. You get a lot more fast take downs by scoping it out and not taking the direct path and executing from elsewhere. The markers will pretty much drop you right in front of the enemy. I quickly learned the usefulness of putting ROE to "on my fire only". Ignore ROE and your guys will screw everything up while you're still looking through your binocs. LOL

I watched a few videos of gameplay and almost all seemed to follow the waypoints exactly (sort of on rails in an unrestricted map) - are the waypoints the save locations or something? Would it be important to "tick them off" as you go to make the next enemies spawn or something?

If you play on hardcore they're aren't any checkpoints so you don't have to worry about them, in fact the only navigation markers you get are primary and secondary objectives. I haven't tried the other modes except vs. online so I can't say.

As far as AI triggers, I haven't noticeably broken a mission yet so it doesn't seem that way but I haven't went out of my way to try to break a mission so maybe you can.

You can turn the floating yellow waypoints (called RVs) off in the game settings menu in the other modes. In hardcore you have no HUD at all.

The save points are at completion of objectives not points on the map. I've not played hardcore except for a little in MP. I'm leaving that for a later playthrough.
AI isn't triggerd by spots on the map that I can tell, or at least not in a distance that I've been able to notice it in, it's just that you can approach things much better than walking right into those checkpoints.

You aren't on rails, the area is open but there is a progression of objectives that may happen to be in a line. As far as I can tell you can approach from anywhere you want. Supposedly you can traverse the entire map if you want any time.

The game don't work with FRAPS... creates stuttered videos, (and not just me)... so I filmed with my HD camera, but still You Tube ruins the quality, but anyway... heres one mission just to show gameplay:

It's my sacrifice to you readers/members. lol

That interface (the center menu) sort of reminds me of how you manage the personal defense/offense settings in Crysis. It was clumsy at first..but I got used to it very quickly...

Nice video..! I think I need to get Armed Assault 2 first though...

Nice job. All of those people that say it takes 7 shots to kill need to check out the last minute of your video.
