IIRC Rise of Flight started out using the Il2 engine but made a switch later on. Is there any Il2 code/heritage left, or did they change it entirely to different platform?

(I'm asking simply because I'm curious. There's no political angle.)

Entirely new platform will mean entirely new code, most likely. There may be elements within the code that have drawn on IL2, but I'd imagine they pretty much built the new engine around their requirements rather than try and square-peg/round-hole IL2 code into the process.

No, RoF started out based on the IL2 engine and changed when too many limitations were discovered IIRC.

There is zero IL-2 code in ROF.

Thanks. Do you know if they licensed another engine or went it alone?
