Man that sux. I'm so glad I haven't picked this up yet and will not anymore. Shame I was so looking forward to it too. Oh well there's always the new mod for EAW whenever it comes out.

The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."

Well, I really didn't wan't to sound like I was in need of consolidation I can afford the loss if the worst casse cenario occurs and I really don't know how to interpret your post Blade_RJ. I just wanted to make noticed something I and a lot others had as a reason to be sceptic. The game itself, with the shortcomings are indeed good. I do like it and I think it will be great eventually. But I still can't shake this nagging feeling about the connection requirement All the best to us simmers // HaJa

Well...sounds like an ass to me, but what do I know? I was just in the game, and was having no problems. What happened, the server went down for a while and it was a disaster? And sorry, but comparing an EAW mod to RoF is like comparing an old 1:72 scale Revell SPAD model to a real one. And yeah, I'm one of those customers that Blade is feeling sorry for. And HAJA, I'm gonna bet that when the Camel and Fokker DR1 come out soon, you're gonna be on line for 'em. There's no way you can have the game and resist. They are going to be beautiful models.

@Pooch: No I wouldn't categorize it as a disaster Just a reminder that what we talked about before in the other DRM thread and what has been voiced in other threads has a validity to it. Namely that with limited time on our hands (depending on work and family in RL) theese things might lead to folks stop playing and recommend friends and others through various channels that the game is not worth the hassle That means in the long run perhaps a premature shutdown of Neoqb and all servers which means that all bought games are worthless. Though those that bought the boxed version might have a nice coaster or a clock And perhaps you are correct, that I will get atleast the DR1 regards // HaJa edit: I spell like a !¤%"%#¤"

I have issues as well, I live in a part of the country that has a lot of thunderstorms during the Spring, and Summer. This year has been slightly above average, and I have lost connections for several days at a time. At least with any other sims you can still put your disc in and play offline without a connection to the internet.
I belong to a group that lives over a four state area, and shares the same type of weather, there`s 312 members, and they recently voted on buying RoF, but decided to wait until SoW is released by Oleg. I have two copies myself, one I bought, and one was a gift. Since then I have shelved RoF. Most of our members were turned off by the online restrictions, the lack of content, and the ton of other features which are usually standard on most sims. Good missions, and Campaigns, a replay, track recorder function, and a of coarse to be able to play it when you wish to.
It`s good points are great graffics, but the lack of immersion from very little content hardly saves it, and it`s statis as a WIP Demo, with it`s own Demo does`nt do anything for it . Neoqb has shot itself in the foot, with this online connectivety issue, as they`ve lost the majority of offline simmers, which is the bread and butter of aviation sims. Puts

Hi Puts, Yes I believe you are correct. I just fire it up once a week perhaps to just fly a mission and then i quit (off-line). The rest of my limited time to play in the evenings go to IL-2 AAA and Third Wire WW1 sim No problems there. // HaJa
