Some of you know me from various gaming sessions with my best friend Kevin Speichts, aka POSITIVE G.
I know +G was VERY active on this site and so I am taking the time to pass on the terrible news to all of you.
Kevin was walking to his car after work when he collapsed from heart failure. A retired firefighter found him and started CPR but we were not sure how long his brain was without oxygen. We found out a couple of days later. Kevin had passed on. He was only 43.
He leaves a wonderful wife and a young son. An obituary will be in tomorrow's (Tuesday, Sept 1) Halifax Chronicle Herald. Services are Friday afternoon.
If you have a message that you would like delivered to his family, by all means send it to me at jimdorey (at) gmail (dot) com. I will ensure it gets to them.
He loved simulations as you know. He was a heck of a guy and the brother I never had. Godspeed Kevin.

That is just too sad for me to make any meaningful comment. He was one of the good ones. I'll miss his posts here.
Thanks for letting us know.

This is very sad news. Quite a few of us here have spent alot of time gaming with him over the past few years. He will be sorely missed.

Very sorry to hear this. 43 is way too young. My sincere condolences to his wife, family and friends.

I don't know what to say, I'm in shock. Kevin and I played a ton online together, never met the man in real life but he was one of my better friends in the online gaming community.
RIP man, you will be missed.

I am stunned. I've known +G for so long I can't remember when, played Arma and Joint Ops and I think GR with him countless times, a couple of times I remember SpaceMarine was there, too...
This was literally the last thing I would've expected to hear.

We had a few discussions back and forth, and I always enjoyed speaking with him and listening to his opinions and thoughts. I had a lot of respect for him. His family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm absolutely stunned. +G was easily one of my favorite people on this site. He was always willing to help and he was a great sincere guy with a sense of humor. Anytime I would post a question about needing help with hardware or software I could always count on him to be among the first to respond either publicly or through a private message.
You visit sites like this and you make some friends along the way. You never really and truly know what the other people are like, without meeting them face-to-face, but you could easily tell that Kevin was one of the good guys. And I really thought of him as a "friend", as much as you can be friends in this manner. Heck, till now, I didn't even know his first name. I just called him "G".
My condolences to his family and friends. He'll be sorely missed.
