That all sounds great. Didn't know about most. In the Alien prequel, I hope it involves the ship found in the first movie. Is Dune a theater movie or a SciFi (err, SyFy now) channel minseries again? I always wanted them to go on to God Emporer. They did a decent job of the first movies, for tv movies. Tron of course is HUGE and looks incredible from the trailer. Edit: looking for info on Dune, I found this: LINK Uh oh... Berg sees the story more as an epic adventure. "[The book] was much more muscular and adventurous, more violent and possibly even a little bit more fun," Berg said. "I think those are all elements of my experience of the book that can be brought in without offending the die-hard fans of the Bene Gesserit and Kwisatz Haderach. There's a more dynamic film to be made." Dune should always be epic and violent, but I think that may be about all he got right there.

This will be a theatrical release. As for the Sci-Fi miniseries, I thought the one for Dune had some good and bad aspects to it. It was nice that it was very faithful to the novel but the limited budget was painfully apparent mostly with the terrible acting from some of the cast and the cheap looking sets and costumes. The Children of Dune miniseries was a huge improvement.

Agreed especially about the 2nd one. It was nice to see the story as a movie, but although they had some good actors, they didn't use them well. The special effects were mighty cheap. Alec Newman was a good Paul though. However, Jurgen Prochnow will always be the Duke in my mind. William Hurt...no. LOL The original movie was good, but boy was it different.

Alec Newmann was great as Paul and in my opinion was better than Kyle McLachlan but the cast from the David Lynch film was in general much more talented and better compared to the miniseries cast. William Hurt was just terrible as Leto. It's almost like he didn't even want to be there. I'm a huge fan and admirer of David Lynch and I love his interpretation of Dune even though I also acknowledge that it had its own flaws.
