I was fortunate enough to be at the Paris Airshow in 2005 when the Airbus performed its first official public display...and fortunate again to have flown in the best cattle class seat on Qantas's brand new A380 in March too (even more so considering the problems Qantas was having!).

I got a few pics at the Avalon Airshow in March of the A380 as it came in for its early morning static display during the public open days.

And this is the best cattle class seat in the house!

Its like a poor mans business class, at a fraction of the cost biggrin

If you fly on the Qantas A380 (and you have to pay for it instead of work!) the seats you want to request are 80A and 80K with 71D as your back up choice.

You get a window, no one sitting in front of you and easy access to the food and drink cabinet right in front of you too! biggrin

Say, that's a big plane...

What really impressed me about the A380 at Oshkosh was how tall it was. Really any other aircraft that size is made for cargo, you have a high wing, low landing gear, basically wing and fuselage. The A380 is not only big, but its TALL. It's like looking up at a 5 story building. Although I am not sure I want to board an aircraft with 500-800 other people.

Whats even more surprising is just how quiet the A380 is on the inside!

And you are right C, the A380 is a TALL plane!

Oh yeah, and 80A/K is right by the exit as well! So if you have to get off in a hurry, you will be one of the first three people out the door! biggrin

Yeah, the 380 is a bit unusual in that the fuselage barrel is elliptical rather than circular, so it's taller than it is wide (though it might not seem so from the inside!).I was a little bit disappointed with myself when I visited Oz a couple of years back; I missed the prototype A380 doing airport trials by a day or two.
Still, you got some good shots of the big beastie. smile

Great shots. I'm still to see one of these in real life.
