Ok, some photos from the Avalon Airshow in March...but this time with an airplane!

You know, the Super Hornet has really grown on me these last few years.

Nice pics, even though it looks a little hazy. And I don't think I've seen any military performers in the U.S. do their demos with any under-wing stores. It looks a lot more interesting that way.

I took some shots of some F-16s doing a few fly-bys at a small civilian show back in March, and the pictures stood out to me for some reason I couldn't put my finger on at the time. Later it dawned on me that they had tanks and missiles on them, and I think it's the only time I've photographed that at a show.

We had some funny weather conditions during the airshow...one minute it would be fine, the next rain, then heat haze and then rinse and repeat.

The previous airshow we pretty much had glorious shooting conditions right through the week.

This time, no so much.

Some shows seem cursed. If you're ever needed to know what weekend in October it will rain in San Diego, just check the date of the Miramar air show and you can pretty much count on it.

And I see what you mean about the varying conditions - that last shot looks to be under much nicer weather than the one immediately preceding it. I also really like the fifth picture, with all the heat blur - much larger area than normal, and it gives the shot a unique feel.
