Well here I am in poor old South Africa on my ummm 'broadband' and I fire up ROF - cool an Update is available!
But wait a moment its errr gulp 1403Mb.....
This will take about 16hours to download - clearly I am special!
Anyone else getting this clearly very special update?

I think somewhere in the route(proxy server?) there is still information from old patch and you game tries to downgrade it.
You can get used to everything, but icicle in the a**. It melts before you get used to it.

I was up to date with 1.004 - played earlier today - seemingly my game is now downloading all patches?? - I have no idea....
But I will probably have to pull the plug as I only have so much cap each month...

Just grabbed it; it was 4 MB.
Yup, same here, version shows 1.005 now.

Yep and I already had the 525Mb patch a day or 2 ago...it seems to want to download the whole game...
Of course without the 10Mb or 4Mb whatever 1005 hotfix I cannot play as I get the game needs updating error when I try to login.
I cannot download 1.4Gb from here either...
I think I'll play tiddlywinks.

I've seen a few testers with this issue, taleks describes how to deal with it over here: http://riseofflight.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=1574&start=10Specifically: "Well, after update it will be original (update utility will change it to original). That is why you must start game directly (rof.exe or settings.exe), skipping rof_updater.exe for one or two days, waiting till cache will be updated on servers. Otherwise rof_updater will see old version (09-07-02) and downgrade to it (and it'll be HUGE amount to download, as it requires not patches, but full file copies). You may specify rof.d-strict.com in update.config for these two days, and you'll start as usual without any errors and attempts to downgrade. "Update master server" is not the same as "game master servers" (fokker.neoqb.com and etc), so you'll not have any login issues, caused by this change."

Lol yeah but that is fine for the update but you still cannot play! Even bypassing the updater and running the exe when you login you get - server error update is required. You cannot LOGIN and run ROF with an out of date game - ever. The main server that you login to expects you to have 1005 - I have 1004. And yes I have been given the same instructions as above - I am Winder on the tech support forum. So you can wait for a few days for the cache but ...... even running the ROF exe bypassing the updater... if your game is an old version ( eg 1004) and the current version is 1005 then you cannot login and play.... WM
