Hi,

My computer is an Athlon 2800+ at 2GHz and graphics card is an ATI Radeon 9600. RAM is 1 Gb. What's your opinion about playing BS in my machine?

I recently bought Flamming Cliffs and performance is very very poor.

Thanks.

As with Flaming Cliffs, you'll have a tough time running Black Shark. Black Shark is more demanding than Flaming Cliffs.

My PC Specs:
Traitorous transistorized toad....Blithering blatherskite....Hopeless heap of tainted tin

playing simulation is enjoyment, you can't enjoy such an awesome sim like Black Shark with that machine.

Here's my rig, wondering if someone can tell me how they think it'll run:

Athlon X2 64 4200+
2GB DDR RAM
NVIDIA 8800 GTS 320MB

It's all pretty old stuff and I need to build something new, I know. I value framerate over image quality, so I wouldn't mind turning the graphics down quite a bit. I just want to know if I can get something worth playing. Any comments would be great, thanks guys.

Your system is pretty similar to mine and I can run Black Shark just fine. It slows down in hectic situations, but overall still playable. I use default medium settings, shadows to active planar, and screen res no more that 1280x960. If you have Vista, then all the better as with the new patch you get to use both CPU cores.

I have the same set up, except an X2 64 4600+ CPU. I use XP and force dual core use through the nVidia control panel. Black Shark runs "ok," but frankly not smoothly enough to keep me from getting irritated in nearly every session with recurrent glitching and stuttering. ED seems to do this consistently -- very interesting products, but complete power hogs. LOMAC:FC had similar problems until I upgraded my CPU last fall to the current dual core.
