Hi,
I didn't find any solution to play Jane's F-15 with my ATI Radeon 9600. Anyone has had more luck?

Thanks.

Goose,

Can you give us more details?

What operating system are you running? Did the game install properly? Did you apply the D3D v1.17 patch? Does it at least get to the menu? Etc., etc...

I'm no expert, but if you give us some more details, we maybe able to help you figure it out.

Allen

Hi, the same problem here. JF-15 crashes just at the mission start, it seems that 3D mode cannot be properly initialised as I use D3D mode. It works fine in software (I've completed all training missions in software mode). Yet have to try to run JF-15 using Glide wrapper.
My specs are :
WinXP, 1 GB DDR RAM, AMD Athlon x64 2,2 GHz and Ati Radeon X1950 Pro 512 MB AGP.

P.S. Goose, hope you don't mind jumping in your post wink

Hi again,

I'm using Windows XP SP3 and the game always installed properly. Patch is the latest one V1.17F D3D/JCN UPDATE. Game crashes when starting a mission, appears a dialog with lots of squares and a button with squares too and when pressed it returns to the desktop. This happens only when using Direct3D. When using software game runs well and the same with glide (using glidewrapper) but the performance is very slow and cockpit looks very bad.

Another problem is that when pressing SHIFT-J to jump in time the game freezes.

Thanks.

Czary, any post related to Jane's F-15 is always welcome!!!

By the way, what method are you using to move the TDC, mouse maybe? I find very difficult to move it by using the microstick.

Goose,
I'm sorry, but I don't know what causes that or how to fix it. I've had (and can reproduce it currently) the exact same issue (when I switch from software or glide to d3d). Aside from software mode, I got JF-15 running by using Zeckensack's glide wrapper (and it seems to look good and run well). I too use an ATI card (x800) on a system running WinXP Home SP3. Have you done a search in this forum? I just did a brief search with "d3d" and "crash" but didn't find anything. Maybe you can think of some better search terms.

I've found that Direct3D version of my DirectX (I guess it's 9.0) is not recognized by DXTest from JF-15 installation CD. I'm going to to get rid of DX 9 (using DX Buster) and install older one - 7.0. As soon as I test this solution I will let you know.

Err, wouldn't that cause problems with the WIndows OS and other games you want to run?

I've never owned a Radeon card, but I used to have extremely slow performance on JF-15 using one of the wrappers. Which wrappers have you tried so far?
