Salute!

Here is mission I made while learning some of the concepts in the Mission Editor. It was made on the Beta build but I did a quick test on my new purchased copy and I think it should work.

It is a dawn drome assualt catching the Allies napping, followed by a search and destroy for trains.

You begin in the air with the drome in the distance. Bring down the sleepy Tommies before they can get airborne and defend themselves. Some planes will take off, some will be stuck in the hangars. AAA is light.

If you still have enough ammunition you can hit a troop train heading for the front to the South of the drome.

For those who prefer icons and waypoints you are well catered for. For those who like icons free, there is enough information on the map and generous trigger areas to give you enough to fly the mission.

For those who want to study the build, there are a few concepts that are on display.

1) An airstart

2) Two proximity switches to trigger the defenders, delayed to represent their unreadyness.

3) A counter to tell attacking group to disengage when enough damage has been done to the drome

4) A wapoint trigger to tell the train to begin it's journey to the frontlines

5) Damage indicators triggering inflight messages to tell you how your attacks are going on the train.

6) A pre-mission briefing to show on the mission selection page

7) Map icons

If you test it I would appreciate any feedback with trigger problems or if you think it is too difficult or too easy.

Fighting Spads is straightforward enough but a pair of N17s can be tough.

Thanks,
~E!~

Extract it into *\Rise of Flight\data\Missions. It might help to make a subfolder for downloaded missions to keep it tidy.

Cool thanks, I'd like to give it a go as well once I can download it.
One question, where do I drop the file, Data bin/missions?

Wow, if that is an indication of the features contained in the mission builder, this game will be huge. Especially when compared to the rudimentary setup of Il-2's FMB.

Just got pointed to this thread. Looking forward to trying it out! Though I suck in the DVII... frown Me thinks those Spads have nothing to worry about. smile

We don't have any "Tommies" in the sim yet.

I'm really hoping the user created content takes off (no pun intended) for this sim.
If it does, the sky is the limit (pun intended).

It's coming ElAurens,

The Mission Builder is powerful and complex and the Russian guide was 150 pages. There was not enough time to translate it. They are working on making it and tutorials available soon.

Great job Double Tab.

Jason

That's been my favorite mission since you made it DT! Flown many, many times. From time of day - to ground and air it's a mission that so hard to put down.

Thanks

Gunny

The rotary could not re-circulate oil,so it had to dump it out onto the airframe. Castor oil, consequently, covered the entire aircraft after a short time. Even worse, atomized caster oil blew into the cockpit and impregnated the pilot. Pilots needed scarves to clean their goggles and faces. Since castor oil is a laxative, pilots suffered serious consequences after a few hours of flight. But such was the need for maximum power

Good job man, just flew it twice bagged me a couple N17s and Spads. I'm flying a different build than retail and it still worked fine.

Jason, I had no idea the ME was going to be so comprehensive. That is fantastic news!

Thanks for that info.

Glad you guys are enjoying the mission. All I had to do for compatability was change the Albatros to the DVII.

The mission I am next working on is to mimic a trap where a low bomber entices an attack, only for the attackers to be snared by waiting hunters hiding in the sun and clouds. Although the AI of the attackers will know of the hunters, with the scripting it is possible to make them seem to be unaware of it until the last moment.
