yyesss, Gunship 2000 for Commodore AMIGA was one of the greatest simulators I played... and still have that one in my room along with my actual PC and still play some missions when nostalgia came... hehe luckily I never sell that faithful computer!

It's a reworking of the code for EECH, therefore it will have the same flyable helos as EECH.

"remember when xxx 2 meant the sequel! " Agreed. However, only IF EECH2 is only a graphics overhaul I would wellcome it. EECH internal campaign engine is sooo terrific that putting a superb DX9 graphics engine on top of it would mean a new sim for many people. Of course with all the nice EECH1 gfx upgrades as of late it will not be easy to even top that. I'm curious though

It is 'scheduled' for Q1, 2007. But if it is, as it says on eech2.com, in pre-beta, it might take (much?) longer. Have looked (Google, fora etc.), but can't find ANY more screenshots or other either. Maybe people here at SimHQ (editors) know more ? They first mentioned it to us.

I'm curious though depends on whether they fixed the multiplayer code too. that was the biggest issue with EECH, the flaky nature of it.

"I have enjoyed reading angels and airspeed, it should prove good reading for all interested in combat tactics and their application related to the fluid air environment and state of technology in WWII years. All the best as you make it available." - Col. Charles McGee - Tuskegee Airman

agreed. Fixing the MP is worth $40 IMO.

Fixing MP won't get you new customers, glorifying the graphics engine may. If I were in charge of the project, that's the last thing I would consider. I would pick a great classic like EECH and bring it 'up to date' (a.o. DX9) and also give it some new missions and terrain. IMO What LP did to F4:AF sure was a gamble (but seems to pay off anyway). Now of course I hope not everyone thinks like me

I to favor dynamic campaigns and have avoided most sims with static and mission only play.If games with dynamic play were so boring they would'nt have rated as some of the all time best simulations all these years and I wouldnt keep going back to them.:)

And believe me, you can't judge a sim off of pre beta screen shots. Having said that I don't expect a "radical" difference in what we have now but obviously work is being done and that is a good thing.

Well, as well as the mod community has done on creating incredibly stunning terrain, I would really like to see an improvement to at least the level of LOMAC. EECH right now is quite close, I would just like it to be right there.
Edit: Oh, and I would really like to see the in-cockpit graphics and textures improved as well. PFZ's would be cool too. Then maybe an Apache in another release. Ok, now I'm just getting ahead of myself.
