Took my Se5a up for a flight in QC today. Just a free flight to get use to my TrackIR and to get some stick time in my favorite mount. While over no mans land something weird caught my eye. At first I thought it might be artillery rounds impacting but after watching for a little I noticed there wasn't any big explosions with dirt and debris plumes, just this fog like mist with a yellow tint rising from the target area. At first I was a little puzzled until I realized this is WWI and that I had just probably witnessed my first gas attack. It looked really creepy from a birds eye view, could not even imagine being in a trench seeing this. I havn't had OFF: BHaH very long but the one thing that strikes me right off the bat is BHaH has a very animated (alive) battlefield, seems like something is always going on. As soon as I learn how to take screenshots or some in game videos with my TrackIR I'll have to get some of these events in here.

For in game screen shots hit Ctrl, ; and they will show up in your "My Documents" folder in the folder called "CFSWWI Over Flanders Fields".

Yeah, it looks pretty wicked, but actually it's harmless. You can fly through it.

hahaha don't know if I would want to try it though, last time I got that low over the front I think the Germans were tossing everything they had up at my kite, could have sworn I saw an empty bottle of St Paulie Girl go wizzing past my cockpit!

I said the gas was harmless. I didn't say anything about the bullets or empty bottles of St Paulie Girl!

Fly low enough and it will be the beer whizzing by, not the empty bottles. I've seen the gas several times from afar. It is wicked looking.
