I remember when RBII released the 3dfx update. That was when I bought my first 3dfx board. It was pretty impressive back thenYes it was amazing. Huge framerate boost. I've still got a boxed-up shrink-wrapped Righteous 3D card (over-ordered) in case posterity should need it and last week I found my Voodoo2 SLI rig on the way to the bin. Rescued and taken to work it overlooks the place where work goes on and reminds me how far we've come. Or will have when SoW is released Ming

Charles De Thielt was a really great guy - produced by some distance the best 3D models found in RB3D, they were absolutely superb given the limitations of the engine. Always helpful and courteous, never got into flame wars though was prepared to put his view across intelligently; didn't let his ego get in the way ever. Very sad day when he died. I think Uhlan's tribute on the SWWISA site is still up. Yes, I remember Charles, he was always helpful and ready to assist in any way he could. If he was still around I bet he would be making some amazing 3d models today. Thanks everyone for adding to the list, brings back lots of memories. Alot of the "so serious" stuff that bounced back and forth I can laugh at now.

Yes, it's archived here -> RBII 4D Wow, had no idea that was up.. sort of up, anyway, seems most of it is not linking or working. Send me a PM and I'll send you the site in full, if you want. I loved this: "*Note: This site was created to accomodate 640x480 screen resolutions using 24bit (true color).. please adjust your settings." 640x480... do you realize how small that is today on our typical 1680x1050 screens? Amazing. Back then, a image file was best kept down to a few kilobytes or less, remember?

Despite repeated warnings Albert continued to loiter outside public lavatories dressed as pestulence.

I took it down a number of years ago as it was simply not worth the expense. For a time, I did a number of profiles for Cross & Cockade, Over the Front, and a book on Nieuports in the RFC. I generally don't do that stuff anymore as it is very time consuming. I still have a large library of Photoshop PSD profile works stored. If this sim ever comes out I may see what I can do to improve or add in terms of skins.
