"Murder of the Crows" was one of the bill-payin' gigs that Gooding Jr. did that I really liked. Cuba's role really could have gone to anyone, but he was pretty good in a flick that had, in my opinion, an interesting storyline. Tom Berenger was good in that one, too.
What's the saying? "No small roles, only small actors"? Sometimes ya gotta take 'em as they come because one day they'll stop coming
Now in my case, I first became familiar with Don Cheadle in Boogie Nights made in 1997. If you look at his list of movies though, you will find there is probably a lot since then.
"Colors" was the first time I remember seeing Don Cheadle; here playing a cold-blooded Crip opposite L.A. beat cops Bobby Duvall and Sean Penn. In "Boogie Nights", I just love that one get-up he's wearing when he's trying to "find himself", kind of like some James Earl Jones deal with the long braids and white pleather. Recently saw "Traitor"... decent, but kind of predictable once he moves to bomb an embassy that conveniently is undergoing renovation.
