Sometimes they do. I thought the second Terminator movie was pretty good. ditto...I thought "The Terminator" was a fun, but cheezy film. A friend literally dragged me in to the theater to view T2 and, oh man, I was blown away! T2 is an excellent film imho ymmv of course.

My local paper (Providence Journal) gave it 4 out of 5 stars and the critic was pretty positive with his comments. He isn't generally a huge fan of sci-fi but he gave Star Trek 5 stars.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this movie and I'll see it before the weekend is over.

I am a huge Terminator fan and I must say with confidence that the movie rocked. I always wanted more "future war" scenes in the movies and I got what I asked for. Seeing Terminators, Hunter Killers and SkyNet in action was sweet. Sure you can nit-pick the film to death but whats the point? Just go see it and enjoy it for what it is....an action film with Terminator badass-ness.
And CGI Arnold was friken sweet. I can't wait for the next one!
Go. See. It.

It was awful. One of the worst movie endings EVER.
common wore sunglasses at night on a tactical operation?
There are so many things I can nitpick but, suffice to say, it's the worst of the franchise so far.
Bale threatened to beat up the wrong member of the production staff. He should have beaten the director and writers.
James Cameron needs to take the helm back from these idiotic amateurs. I literally could have made a better story.

Fascinating. I dont think I've seen such wildly varying opinions on a new movie on SimHQ before. I was enjoying it until the end. There were so many things wrong with the last half hour of the movie, it's laughable. They could have written there way around the awful tactics and physics but, the writers failed miserably in suspending my disbelief. The audience I saw it with seemed to be experiencing the same thing. There was total silence as people walked out. People seemed pretty bummed about getting beat out of $12.50 for THAT.

Much better than the third. Trails the first and second obviously. I found it enjoyable but definitely got the "Transformers" vibe from it.

This movie sucks.
It is thoughtless and rips off all the good movies (T1,T2).
Words, such as liberal and liberty, all trace their history to the Latin liber, which means "free".

I think in general, I prefer "The Terminator" over "T2", but I love both of them and can go either way depending on my mood. "The Terminator" to me is more of a techno-thriller, while "T2" is more of a solid action movie. What I like most about "T2" is that it stuck to the original vision of the future that "The Terminator" introduced; i.e., even though it was the early 90s when "T2" came out, the hunter-killers in cutscenes were still those cheap mid-80s models: I liked that. As long as the new one is better than "T3" I'll be happy, but it's a renter for me. EXCLUSIVE: WHAT WENT WRONG WITH TERMINATOR SALVATION?
Interesting article that. What was it that Reese said in "The Terminator"? Basically that they/we had won, but that Skynet had sent a terminator back just before the time machine do-hickey could be destroyed? Something like that anyways. In my opinion, that could have gone well with the Connor death of "T4"'s original script, beyond just being a nice little twist. Oh well... more what-if scenarios.
