Lets just say that I'm using ROF as an excuse to upgrade my trackIR 3 to the new Version 5

It really is game changing for flight sims.

Cheers

TIR today is as a good HOTAS, you can fly without it, but when you finnaly get one, you can´t go back, hehe. It is a life changing experience!

Fighter pilots make movies, Attack Pilots make history.

Since the release of the new TrackIR5 the prices on TrackIR4 have taken a plunge. Ordering directly from naturalpoint it costs $ 169.95 for a TIR5 with Track Clip Pro and $ 119.95 for a TIR4 with Track Clip Pro. A few days ago they even had an offer of TIR4 for abotu $ 80 on the front page (without Track Clip Pro).

In my opinion, if you want to get a reasonably priced entry into TIR now is the time. I've had TIR4 for almost a year now and i'm very pleased with it. Sure, TIR5 is better and a lot of people report it being more sensitive and smooth. However, for dogfights of the kind we'll be seeing in RoF i doubt you'll need a lot of slow panning. It's probably going to be the other way around, fast and frantic view checks and course changes, so i think a TIR4 should serve you well enough.
