Yeah...go ahead and dangle it in front of our faces, and then yank it away, laughing. Sadist!

Airfields were always one of the weakpoints of this sim. This stuff is making it so incredibly immersive!

great work, but this is taking years and the hard labor seems to have no end in sight
why not release an initial version of this map with just the main coastal airfields, so we can start using it ? more rear located airfields and additional bases can then later be added in a 2e version of the map to make it more complete.
Be advised, we got zips in the wire

A beta would be nice and I asked for one months ago after supplying some field info and pictures. But this is more a work of art than a procedural process and as a work of art will be only be released by the artist when it is to their satisfaction. This is a good thing and I would recommend to tread lightly with the artist (I was one myself years back) and give them room to breath and create.

except that most of us here will never use 75% of the more rear located airfields, its simply to far to fly from them across the channel all the way to france, or to take off from them when we try to scramble quickly when the germans attack england. the same can be said for the french airfield from where the bosh launches his raids. the coastal ones will be used, and the ones deeper inland will rarely be used. so why not give us an initial map with the coastal bases for both sides, and we can pound the ibie geebies out of each other while the rest of the map gets completed. this also will allow the campaign and mission creators to get cracking on the new map we are in dire straights for some new life into the old il2 horse

As much as it surprises me, I'm with the patient crowd. Let them finish the map ad release it when it's done. Why would we want to simply be amazed when we could get blown away ?
One of the reasons I'm being so patient is that the first thing I'll do when this map is released is jump in a virtual Sptifre or 109 and tour all the places I have lived or know that are on the map. Owing to their pretty rural nature and lack of tactical importance, these places will probably be the last to be included in the map...
Cheers
Nico
