Can you scroll the ABRIS map so that you can center on your own-ship icon as it progresses with its flight?

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

Yes. There are a few ways of doing this. I recommend watching the Producer's Note on the ABRIS.

Alternatively, (whilst in the hover) apply a small amount of pressure to the cyclic biggrin
