2 weeks until russian release, and I humbly quote: "Game will leave completely in the Russian language."

Might be a month or so from now, until we, from what I understand, have English digital release.

Never the less, we are undeniably close now!

Would be great if a developer could shred some light on the English version of RoF.
The last statement on the blog was rather blurry but to be honest it looks like we'll have to wait longer. Seeing as we outside Russia and CIS can't get a boxed version it feels rather weird that we still have to wait a lot longer just for the digital download version of ROF to hit.

How about that demo? smile

Many years of development butchered up by a urinating-poor release. Please learn on mistakes of other russian developers...release game world wide at the same time.

Developments take time, but I suppose they could have delayed the russian version until the english version was ready and urinate-off a few russians. Is it better to have a few urinated-off russians, than a few urinated-off others? Luckily the russians are smarter than that and will take the money now rather than later, as there will always be urinated-off people in all countries no matter what they did.

I personally have no problems with a staggered release when a lot of the reason for it is probably just a reflection of the work needed to get the different language versions completed (I know that's not a very well written sentence).

I don't see the angst this causes as a "urinated-up" release, but rather sour grapes by those who can't stomach the thought that others may be able to play with their toy before them. School yard stuff really.

What this gold announcement means is that the game is very close to full release and will not drop off into vapourware. Considering the global financial situation, it's probably a very wise move to release it in Russia first as that should give them a cash boost to help finish the job (the same thing was done with the release of ArmA, i.e., to keep the developer afloat so they could finish the game). Also, once sold, there will be no reason why the russian gamers can't flood us with nice movies while we wait.

Staggered release doesn't bother me either. If there are any bugs they might get fixed before 'our' version comes out. I imagine, though, that the extra time needed before letting the rest of us near it is to correct the appalling Russian-English translations that they seem to have borrowed from 1C:Maddox. 'Era of First Sky Aces' indeed. nope

cheers

I was thinking it would be June at the earliest, so it all seems on track to me. Besides, why not release to their fellow country men first. We will all have a chance to take off soon enough.

Very true roger.
It's just the lack of information which is a bit disturbing otherwise i don't think anyone dies waiting a few extra weeks / days. An estimated date for the Eng International version would be right at it's place or an official demo.

If all this is true, then the beta testers didn't find much.

Good job Neoqb developers!!! Can't wait to fly your sim!

Most likely the bug fixes will be added in a patch.

LOL, I liked the complaining about Black Shark's "Western" release delay - and with it came extra missions and campaigns that weren't included in the CIS release.

Of course all the folks that bought the Russian version were then complaining about that.

The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events.

It also had some bugfixes I think.
Later I heard that ED allowed Russian users to download those extra missions but that required registration... supplying name, address etc

Yet again proving that whining is a universal trait.

Whining... the common thread in the rich tapestry that is humanity...
