haha interesting comment in article, "With the recent crash, the F-22 an accident rate is about 7 per 100,000 hours. F-15s and F-16s have an accident rate of 3-4 per 100,000 flight hours." Could the high F22 accident rate be due to the plane still being in the early part of it's lifecycle? low amount of flighttime? What was the accident rate for the F-15 and F-16 for the first two years of their lifespan?

What was the accident rate for the F-15 and F-16 for the first two years of their lifespan? well, if you read the article a bit longer, you'll see it's exactly waht they say.. a new aircraft always has a somewhat higher accident rate than once it's been flying for some time... small, and at first hidden, defaults have been detected and then it does better...
