Hey guys,

I rarely post here, or fly sims any more for that matter, but I used to be involved in IL-2 a lot, including modeling the Pe-2 cockpits.

I had started work on the Lancaster for SoW last year, but work and other things have pulled me away from it and it's basically gone untouched for months now. Therefore, the model is up for grabs to anyone who wants to continue the project.

The modeling and UV's are 100% done
The textures are 50% done
Damage modeling and LODs are 0% done
Comes with about a gig of reference photos.

I'd hate to see all that work go to waste, and I'd like to fly the Lancaster one day, so I hope there's someone here wanting to continue the project.

Hope this interests someone!!

Sounds very interesting Loki do you have all your project material available for download please?

Looks gorgeous you can't give up on it and that's an order Smile2

Have you thought about recruiting a model-building team and taking team leader's overview? Have someone find dedicated crew for the task. You sound perfect for the silent-partner job Smile2 seeing how far you've got, must have been very hard work if you've got that far working alone, salute!

Hi Loki,

Would you mind if I posted a link to this thread over at the UBI IL2 General Discussion forum and the official 1C SoW forum? They are a bit livelier than here and you might catch someone.

Hey guys, thanks for the replys!

Ming: yeah, I tried to rally a few modelers but I had real trouble finding people who had time and skills, and were willing to volunteer or work on deferred payment basis, since I can't really fund the project myself. I'm actually a producer for a living and I tried to find funding for the project, but without much luck. SoW hasn't been released yet and so I'm not really able to offer timelines or anything other than the idea and the model, and investors tend to want a better plan smile

RedToo: don't mind at all, please post. I came here because people here tend to be more serious about these things.

SaQSoN, GeoffW: you will have PM's in a second!

I was really hoping for Target for Tonight, which got cancelled, so I hope this one makes it.

The model looks great and with the new features in BoB it should work great, too. Now imagine a Bf 110 nightfighter adversary...

Hello

I hope you dont mind my post as i also have been working on creating a Lancaster smile

Ive been making it for the IL-2 1946 combat flight sim , and would really be helpfull to grab a copy of your work , i think it looks wonderful and it would not be lost , i have been making the Cockpit nav and radio area recently.

Im using 3d max 2009 , and would really like to fly a lancaster its one of my favourate bombers , such a shame IL-2 series forgot to make it for the flight sim , personally my great uncle earned the OBE for his work on the release of the bouncing bomb and ive been hooked on the plane even since he sat me down and told me the story about how it all started.

you can contact me either by pm ,email or via raf662.com or RAF_Wolf@raf662.com

If you would like to see some of our work we have done in raf662 please take a look at our new BETA trainer plane Miles Magister http://www.raf662.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28508

We look forward to hearing from you soon

Best Regards
