Ouch!
I just had an ouch moment myself. Walking down the stairs, sock feet, left foot slides off the step forward. Big toe curled under and I stepped on it pretty hard to keep from falling. Hands were full, so I couldn't use them.
Lots of alcohol and Aspercreme applied, 35 minutes later and no swelling, just a touch sore. Maybe I got away with it.

Alcohol applied internal and Aspercreme external?
Ouch is right, and that's a tough place to get cut, always flexing in that area.

Or until your toe falls off j/k, good advice. I should know, I think I've broken about three toes ramming into furniture. I go through streaks where I am death on wheels. I conk my head into the corner of an overhead cabinet. Do a Stooge moment where I bend over to pick up something off the floor and bonk my head into the countertop, drop a phillips screwdriver and have it impale itself into my big toe, splash acid into my left eye, and so on.

Ah tape... I'd been keeping tennis shoes on just to be safe. This morning I awoke to find zero swelling, full mobility, and only the slightest soreness. Lucky so far, just want to avoid smacking it again. Oh and ST... Yes I know that exact problem with those multi-tool pliers. That and the ever popular "pinch" when the plier slips off and the tight fitting handles slam shut. Which is why I don't have one. I've been using a Victorinox Swiss Champ for about 14 years now. What it can't handle I get real tools for.

Note to Stormtrooper and adlabs6. It feels better when you stop. That's what she said

I did some tree felling at the Scout Camp this weekend and one was hung in another tree and all dead at the top. It was about 18 inches and locust. The top was dead but looked sound enough to be resistant to breaking out and falling on me, as long as I was careful. I notched it on the side it was leaning toward and made a partial back cut, then hitched a rope to it and pulled from a distance. It broke and dropped right nicely, but only slid down the trunk 4 feet and drive its end into the wet dirt. That was repeated 9 times, notch, back cut, rope, pull drop and stick into the dirt. It eventually got far enough down to just push it over. Those kinds of hangers are dangerous at best. Additionally it was drizzling rain and the water from my rain coat kept running down my backside, but we had a good fire in the dining hall that night, so all was well. Some weekends are just memorable for living through!
