Fellas, I've installed YAP2, but in both YAP2 and previously in WOV, I cannot get my Logitech Force 3D Pro to program its buttons. I tried using the Logitech software, but no go. Then I tried to set up a custom key layout in the game's options panel. The game recognizes my stick, but when I try to program specific buttons to specific actions -- like autopilot to Button 7 -- the game will either ignore the button I push entirely, or program the keyboard to a different key.

At the moment, the game is unplayable. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

The Logitech software won't work in a Third Wire game. You should use the Options. I have had some "funny" events using the software also.

When you go to the Options>Control page, you can see a pulldown menu on the right page beside Keyboard Control Map. What is in that menu? There will be a Default. Anything else? Are YAP controls in there? LogitechX3dPro? SaitekX52? Just checking. We include those as a starting point.

When you open Customize... What file is opened? Can you see? Is it Default.

Then when you try to click Button 7 at the Autopilot spot, does it show you have clicked it? Do you first click on the item with your mouse before clicking Button 7?

I don't imagine this is the problem but sometimes I have to click a switch several times for it to get the idea...especially with the Hat switch.

Anyway, tell me what happens. Maybe I can figure it out.

Hi z,

Yes, I can see all those control profiles, and I've tried using both YAP2 and LogitechX3dPro. Some keys seem to respond, but most don't or act very funky. For example, none of my weapons fire.

With Button 7 -- nothing. I click on autopilot with my left mouse key, the programming panel message comes up, I press Button 7, but nothing happens at all.

I apologize in advance but I have to ask...it is plugged in? Does anything work at all? Does it work on another game? Does YAP Controls work? If so, I can give you that layout...or you can just look at the INI file in Controls and see what does what.

which brings me to...

You don't need to do this in the Options section. You can go into Controls, copy Default...or YAPControls, Paste it, rename it and go about manually changing whatever you want to change. Then you don't blow out the Photo Recce Mod.

If that doesn't work, go watch Dancing With The Stars.

Hahaha. smile Yeah, wiseguy, it's plugged in and works just great with all Falcon 4 flavors, LOMAC:FC, EECH, etc.

I'll try the rename and and manual change route, I guess. BTW, despite this aggravation, YAP2 looks and feels stunningly good. Now I just gotta find a way to play it.

OK, uh, Cerebro Splendido here just figured out part of the problem. If you have your Logitech Profiler software set to automatically come on with Windows at startup, it will interfere with your WOV/YAP options panel control settings even if you don't have a Logitech WOV profile active. You need to exit out of the Logitech Profiler software completely. Then, if you manually program your control set in the options panel, the Logitech Force 3D Pro stick works fine.

Still not ideal, but it does function properly. And YAP2 is cool.
