duh.. The subject name sound a bit strange.

Anyway.. last night I was flying the "Broken arrow" mission. Absolute great to circle arround just below the clouds and see the other planes dropping there bombs on command of the Forward air controler. Great immension when you have read de book and have seen the movie "We were solders". I think I even recognized Mell Gibson somewere between de soldiers biggrin

At one point someone (I think it is the fac) call's out enemy SW(?) off there position. For some reason no one call my callsign (can't remember what they call but it was not me )Because there were no other flights arround I think it was ment for me.

I'm flying without the enemy marker dots so it's very hard to see were to drop my bombs.

Cheating a bit with pause and F12 view I found there position and drop my bombs.

-Is there any offical way they marker the target for me? Sometimes I notice dark smoke..Does the Fac give direct positions with dark smoke?
-Does the Fac interact with what you doing or is it al time based scripted what they call. I thought I see the troops change position when green and red smoke that starts to popup from new locations.
-Are there trigger points that make the Fac react on your performance?
- How long is this battle going on in yaps..will there be any changes if it keeps running for an hour ? It would be nice if you could reload after landing and go in again.

Can you send me a screenshot of the dark smoke? The FAC should only have White Phosphorus rockets.

We have choreographed the scene to unfold within the guidelines of the actual story as told to us. The land battle plays out, the AI aircraft do their thing, but you just complete the mission as it unfolds. It will be different each time within the guidelines of the story.

The FAC will only mark what we programmed him to mark. He's very limited in his abilities. We also restrict the number of rockets so he doesn't turn the place into a cloud.

By not using all the big dots, you are playing the game the right way. In a fast moving jet, what you see is trees. Without a FAC and friendlies popping smoke, you are blind. I just drop into the trees and let physics do the rest.

The battle will continue until the soldiers of one side are all dead or they all run out of ammunition. The US usually has more bullets and the NVA, more men.

Ok I checked it out. There is a FAC flying around (had not noticed him before)
At 10:20 he shoots all his white fosfor markers at one target, I would say 1000meter south of LZ.
Is this how it should be ? It means I don't get any target markers close at our troops because he's empty on ammo.

Here are some photo's

here you see Crab11 shoot all his fosfor at one's

This give an idea were.

And this one just because it's cool smile

Yes. The Huns are not sent in close to the fight but up towards Chu Pong Mountain. You then pick and choose your targets with your remaining ordnance down on the valley floor.

Ok thx,

so If I understand correcly I don't get Fac fosfor as reference on the close targets neer our troops. And he will only use the fosfor rocket one's. In that cause I need to enable the target dot's one's in a while to have a little idea were to drop my bombs. Is there an in game enable/disable "waypoint/target" dot's button ?

thx.

btw. re-reading your answere.. the Huns ( the other AI flight ? ) drops there bombs very close neer our troops. The Explosion you see in the last picture is a bomb dropped by the other flight, not by me or my wingman.

The fosfor targeted NVA are not looked after by anyone. Can it be that this great mission needs some tweeking?
