I posted this on www.head-fi.org but we are a bunch of audiophiles I am posting it here as we are simmers! Thoughts please......

I think I have decided to build a computer with these parts. It will be built for gaming. ( I am a huge iRacer iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations ) and for my headphone use.

I all ready have a modded x-fi as my dac ( it was the very first card in the x-fi modding thread that is about a billion pages long http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f46/hotrodding-x-fi-laymans-guide-no-56k-226975/ .). My x-fi will be hooked up to my Bijou amp made by Donald Basel.

Sounds like an awesome system. Not sure but a 700W PSU might be cutting it a little close though. Also you might want to sign up for Newegg's email deals. The codes they send you nearly always amount to at least a ten dollar savings on certain items.

http://promotions.newegg.com/NEemail/latest/index-landing.html

For instance, with the codes, a much faster memory is available for 20 bucks more.

Also Fry's has some killer deals on some nice hardware.

Some nice reviews of that board.

You might want to order a good direct touch heatpipe cooler before you assemble the computer since it would be much easier to install it right off the bat.

Detroit - in the Danger Zone!
Go with the BioStar TPowerX58 motherboard. Seventy bucks cheaper and is a cinch to overclock that sexy Core i7.

Total system price shipped before rebates is 1379.00.

Everything went together without a hitch. It took me about 5 minutes to put VISTA Ultimate 64 Bit on it. My buddy is a computer scientist and is a subscriber to Microsofts developer program (600 dollars a quarter.). So we used an ISO that all ready had a beta copy of SP2 on it and had all updates. It was nice to see windwowes update say there are no updates at this time. (Why it has all of the language packs installed I have no clue)

It took me longer to run the setup disc for the motherboard!

Everything runs AWESOME. Vantage score was 17000 and that was with iRacing downloading and installing in the background! Norton Bloatware was also running in background. I will be switching antivirus today. I can finally turn everything up on Armed Assult. iRacing runs locked at 60fps with all options enabled and anti aliasing and antriscopic filtering being set on the card, havn't seen it dip below 60 yet copter FarCry 2 runs maxed at 1920x1200. I am a happy man. Bring on Armed Assaut 2!!!!
