Appalachian foothills in Virgi...
I'd done a quick search and didn't see this in the forum:

Rosebud's WW I and Early Aviation Site

I'd seen the link on another warbird forum and was blown away by the images this person(s) has gathered together. I'm not sure how you can determine color, or if you can, from these old b/w photos but it would be great to see some of these paint schemes and designs in ROF.

Oops - I think the think is broken.

Try this:
http://www.earlyaviator.com

Definitely an awesome site! I should really gather all these great sites together and make a list of resources on my website. I also want to gather museum links together. But I'm not sure how to organize all this information!

Thanks for fixing that, franksvalli. It could be a daunting task to organize a lot of different information sources and links since many of them would likely have multiple "main" topics within the site.
If there is an overarching theme with a website or source, go with that. Good luck on it! I might have to do some searching later on tonight about the lozenge pattern on some German craft. I understand there were essentially two variants; one with 4 colors and then one with 5. I've always thought the pattern was quite cool.
