http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7839542.stmItalian carmaker Fiat and US giant Chrysler have agreed to create a global strategic alliance, the companies said in a statement.
Under the terms of the deal, Fiat will get a 35% stake in Chrysler. In return, the US firm will get access to Fiat's fuel-efficient vehicle technologies. I guess this only shows how far behind the US car industry when it comes to fuel efficient technologies and how desperate it is to catch up.

Did someone say 2009 Challenger?
Nope, but I heard someone mention the new, fuel-efficient 2009 Challenger 1.4 turbo diesel
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

I can see the advantage. Now it's a race to see if the transmission blows up before the car rusts to the ground.

Longbow: we know, we're just having a bit of fun. Most people's memory of Fiat in the states are the rusty econoboxes from the late 70's.
