Since I decided to get back in the flight sim game I discovered my old controllers are no longer supported by their manufacturer.
I have a Cyborg 3D USB and the PCDash, both by
Saitek. The drivers in Vista allow them to work fine when tested within Windows Game Controller, but
Saitek no longer offers the software to program all the buttons to simulate keyboard strokes.
With the 3D it was not that big a deal since it only has a few buttons, but the PCDash has 35 buttons I rewired to a homemade throttle assembly to allow me to use the throttle as the major keystroke input devise.
I ran across a freeware program Xpadder (

If you are in the same jam I am in, you might want to give it a look.
