I am still working out the datalink system but I was wondering how the online server was going?

EDIT: I guess I should add ... how noob friendly is it? :-)

Sometimes folks jump in the middle of some intense action and players are not able to do much hand-holding, other times it's just sauntering around enjoying the scenery. Depending on when you log in you might be on your own for a while.

I've learned something new from others every day I've been on. The majority are rookie pilots and we all acknowledge it's a steep learning curve.

Spent an hour yesterday just chatting on the SimHQ Teamspeak server. Players just meet up there and go off to non-SimHQ hosted BS servers.

So don't worry about a thing online, just jump in and have fun. Some servers have people on them that take it too seriously though.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed there are people using the SimHQ TS server for non-SimHQ BS games? I mean, TS is free and anyone can set up a server for simple testing and playing without using the one that SimHQ set up. Just a thought.

EDIT: As Flexman pointed out, some of the TS channels are designated for non-SimHQ use. Sorry for jumping the gun on that one.

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

There are two dedicated channels for SimHQ's Black Shark server, they are clearly named so there's no ambiguity. See the channel named "Black Shark (SimHQ Server)" with two sub channels for Red and Blue.

And there are two channel non SimHQ Black Shark channels ("Black Shark 1" and "Black Shark 2").

Members of the SimHQ community are encouraged to make use of the facility, and donations to SimHQ are always welcome to help with the upkeep of these services smile

Just spent a couple of hours on it, on my own. Would be good to get more folk on so I can practice some data link action, BTW is the "permit crash rcvr" option ticked, for some reason I could still recover from a what would have been a fatal vortex ring.

permit crash recovery is simply a respawn option, once you get killed you can pick up another ka-50.

Hi,

Been waiting for the domain to become active before I could post this but if you go here:

http://dcs-bs.com/forums/index.php

There are a group of us looking for a home as it were, so I've created that.

We were looking for a kind of informal VFW - most of us aren't available during the week (work etc..) and we need the flexibility of flying when able.

We're all still learning, but hopefully we can use this as a place to meet up, arrange ad-hoc flights (e.g. "I'll be around Saturday at 1200z" etc), training, and fly group missions seriously.

There's only me registered right now, but hopefully that will grow to at least 6 or 7 people in the next week or so.

I'm getting ready to get on too. Datalink is on my learning list as well.

Is TS working good on vista64, anyone know?
