Checked on it today. Known problem since version 7.3 of the software. We went from 7.2.1 to 7.4 smile

Tildes and commas are supposedly the worst. Have a message in to the developer to see if they can do a fix.

Best way to resolve it (for now) is use the URL tag when you want to link (I've been told).

not to be a pest, but I also cant find the article- Feature: Out of the Mothballs: Jane's USAF Revisited.

I looked in both the feature and the second-look sections in air combat.

Also, shouldn't the article-TAW: a brief Retrospective-be placed in the second-look section? and the Operation Persian Freedom article be placed in the Sacha Chronicles?

Thanks.

Not a pest at all, thanks for asking.

Here's the USAF article:

http://www.simhq.com/_air8/air_278a.html

I couldn't find it in the Air Combat articles either. Must be an oversight.

And I think you're right on TAW and Sacha. Still some housekeeping to do!

Add your questions and comments about 20mm's feature article "SimHQ's 2008 Overhaul" here.

Hi

I cannot access the Forum or others (recent News etc.) with my home Internet but when I switched to an insecured neighbor's connection, it's fine.

Just wonder is this something from the forum or from my provider's end and would appreciate if you can give any tip of what I can do to fix it ?

Thanks

D.R.

Well, limited information here, but since you can access it at the neighbors, but not at yours, I'm guessing it's on your end. Perhaps your ISP or firewall is blocking the site. I would try clearing out your cookies, temp files, and history, then try it again.

The other thing you might do is check the settings your neighbor has versus yours. That may give a clue as to what's going on. Assuming you use the same ISP and browser.

Good luck, let us know.

Oh, just thought. When you registered, did you use your home computer or the neighbors?

Strangely this phenomenon has been following me across America, from West coast to East coast, it has been since 2006 that I found SimHQ cannot be accessed and thought it's gone the paid subscription road. Since then the router has been changed with the new one, provider has been switched, and my computers have been changed to new ones.

In 2007 moving to NY area I found myself typing in "SimHQ" at work and found it's alive and kicking all this time. At home though is the same story, only can access front page and a very few other links but the "forum" is out of reach.

I thought that there might be a chance that it's my computer but after reformatted and reinstalled Vista and XP for both machines (They are due for that any way, one being tainted with virus, the other due to a hardware failure), it's still the same thing. No "forums" accessible.

Among the numerous wireless network around the house there is one of the neighbor's wireless being unsecured and that's the only way that I can access fully SimHQ and registered myself. Unfortunately I don't know who the network belongs to to check it out let alone the fact that we virtually have zero contact since I moved here.

Currently I can get to the newly designed front page and other articles (ie Aviation, Air combat, Land combats etc) with my home network but no "forum" or "daily news". Though when I tried to ping using my router admin. tool, it does see SimHQ ip and packets sent and received. When I used that ip address to access SimHQ, it goes to the server with a directional message saying something about contact webmaster and stil no way to get to "forum".

I'm posting this via my reckless neighbor's network. God bless him (or her) smile

Buddy, I have no clue. You know SimHQ is not a pay for site. You can access it via a neighbor's site but not yours. You can get the front page but not forum or news.

I wish I had an answer for you, I really do not.

Yes I did know it has been still a free site since I accessed it later on and thanks for looking into the issue regardless. It's a strange case and I think I need to call in my provider, see what they can do.

We were doing some backups tonight and it hung up a couple of times causing the error. Shouldn't happen again.
