This time of a culture group that my family belongs to.

This was a dress rehersal for a competition in Hawaii in August, which they came third (not bad for the first time they had entered the competition).

I have to say that while I love my D200, it really does struggle with high ISO settings!

The only way I could get these photos to come out half decent was to convert them to black and white to hid the grains from the ISO setting!

Apart from that, I do love my camera \:\)

You should give NoiseNinja a try. Excellent standalone/plugin for removing grain and noise. I love your photos btw.

Fun shots, I think B/W works really well for them.

I use Neatimage for my stock stuff because they are very picky about image noise - however some noise in an image can add atmosphere and also increase the perceived sharpness, so don't be afraid of it.

Colour noise is generally bad (and common in low light/underexposure/tungsten situations), but luminance noise can be tolerated.

If you don't have noise filters either in your image editor or as plug-ins, a soft brush 5% blur can do a good job on shadows, skies, etc. You could use it on people with care, but usually best to leave the mouth and eyes alone to take advantage of the perceived sharpness trick. Simply reducing the image size can also kill noise if you don't need full size images.
