Interesting, and I like the idea of being able to determine the direction of hits through the force-feedback's reaction.
I think the video shows the "mouse" movement kicks in at the margins of the device's movement, what they call the "edges" of the available movement for the three axis arms. I wonder if you can now simultaneously move while aiming off at a different angle (that's hard to do when your hand's planted on the desktop moving the mouse laterally)? This greater range of axis motion, which krise is talking about in his posting above, is a good point.

You know was thinking, I wonder if you could mount that thing upside down underneath your desktop?
If you can reverse map the axis movement within the device's interface, then you could have that thing right between your legs. Seriously, if you could rest your arm on your leg and move that controller located just out front, that would great, like at an aircraft's joystick position.
