Nice pic, Torpo. It's been about 25 years for me since I hiked with my daughter in my backpack.

Darm, do I miss those days.

Heh yeah that was after a dedication for my Pop at the Mystic Seaport. The day started out quite overcast and when the dedication started, the sky opened up and the sun shown all the rest of the day. We all went to John's Place and had a few as well. That may 'splain my color too ;\) Pop would've been proud ;\)

It is a uniform of our Czech squadron member - they represent 4th Gebirgsjaeger Division (Mountain Division). Here with our ex-defense minister:

Dont be such a drama queen. They're re-enactors.

In early October I will play Soviet soldier in reenacting event - fighting in the Valley of Death in eastern Slovakia, 1944:

Just out of curiosity, do you use genuine weapons (albeit with blank ammo \:D ) or replicas ?

Cheers

These weapons I touched recently (Mosin rifle and PPSh SMG) are of Soviet origin (made in 1944), but they had been officially disabled for firing blank ammo only. But there are other reenactors who have fully functional guns (like that Mauser Kar98). It depends on the legislation, Slovak laws are more historical-guns friendly than in Poland or Czech.
