WALLPAPER COMPETITION!I'd like to run my own little wallpaper competition, based on IL-2 1946, for the talented screenshot artists out there so they can win a small prize to be determined. Hopefully it can be something tangible (like a book), but if not, I could always offer up a set of one-off skins for the plane of the winner's choice. Okay, if anyone's game, here are the rules: 1. Use of cosmetic enhancements (graphics mods) is permitted. 2. Any entries must use at least one aircraft skin made by me. You can find my skins here and here. 3. Please try to make the dimensions at a 16:10 ratio (e.g., 1680x1050, 1920x1440, etc.) Other than that, go wild! Use of MAT Manager is encouraged (never could figure that out myself, but hey). Please post entries here and I'll pick the best one after about a month. Note: If you think this is a completely self-serving and humongously-egotistical publicity stunt, please feel free to ignore/flame at your leisure.

Photoshop and composite works are definitely allowed! And the prize is my copy of Squadron/Signal's "La-5/7 Fighters In Action" plus one other book which will be a surprise (it'll be more substantial than the "In Action" books, that's for sure). Closing date will be the 11th of November (Veterans' Day).
And Stratos, thanks for the shot! <S>

Okay... I'll take the FW-190 F8's from SG2 in winter cammo. ~~~ ... not that I really intend for any of these to be the 'winning' entries. I simply enjoy the skins Goodwood has been kind enough to produce over the years. I have no intention of editing/Photoshop'ing any of the screenshots I take in order to enhance them. I simply haven't got the time nor talent to produce good results with that sort of work. So I'll stick to simple in-game shots showcasing some of GW's work. There are a lot of other talented skinners out there as well, all of whom I respect and salute by proudly 'dressing' my aircraft in their skins. Actually, the hard part of this particular exercise is ensuring that it's actually Goodwood's skins I've selected for my aircraft.

D'OH that was my second choice I think I saw a nice P 39 that might be interesting, hopefully there will be enough time in the day to get to it! I agree SandMan skinners have my deepest appreciation Not sure about this 16:10 ratio, what's lowest resolution at 16:10

That skin is friggin awesome, I darkened it a bit to bring out the fantastic detail, then proceeded to hack it onto a prairie sky The prop on a P39 is huge, but I might have made it a tad too large, though I spent a lot of time with it, working with each individual blade; distorting, scaling, and rotating to get it just so. The cockpit glass is muffed, too bad could be a real asset, ah well one more thing to learn. It took me from 17:59 to 21:39(time between my posts) to create the pic

Guys, I'm seeing some wonderful shots here. Don't be afraid to post multiple entries, though! The more the merrier! You've got nearly two whole months to work on whatever floats your boat!
