Thanks for the headsup Red, but, as usual

a)nothing new other than total irrelevancies (if I read it right mobile radar stations will suffer from power loss if the whole of southern England turns on the light at once ;\) )...
b)BoB:SoW anytime soon? No, remember the number you had in mind, treble it, add two weeks then quadruple the lot...
c) and just which man/woman is working on patch 4.09 final? At least I can answer this one: no-one, we're never going to see it.

Unfortuantely I'll probably have snuffed it before Oleg gets his act together; I've probably got somewhere between twenty and forty years left.

I think it sounds great. It's obvious he's designing something much more advanced that will offer much-requested new features and realism, like the "connected parts" that could take damage modelling of large systems to an entirely new level. The increased terrain resolution sounds great as well. Just what the doctor ordered, in fact.

How much of a drag this is in terms of development also depends on how much of it is implemented in the game. Just because the game engine allows e.g. 2000 interconnected hit boxes on a ship doesn't mean every trawler in BoB has to be that way.

The only thing missing now is a release date and 4.09. Then we can all die happy, including the fortysomethings like Dunkelgrun.

Looking forward to it, and thanks to RedToo for posting here, it was my thread over at UBI and glad the news came over here too.

Would you be taking any questions yogy? ;\)

Thanks, yogy!

I will go for the obvious question. Did it appear that they were close to completion?
Or did it seem that they will be busy past Q1?

Just asking for your "opinion" based on what you saw.

Thanks!

My opinion is that Q1'09 would not be realistic.

Do you know what rigs they are using to test the game?

i can't wait that long \:D
it will probably be another year before it's out, maybe september 2009 for irony

An OCed E8400 at 4 Ghz using one core for just BOB...that's 4ghz for one game, gotta be enough...add to that 4gb RAM (or 8) and the latest gfx card that is out by then.

Unless you absolutely positively need a quad?...
