Muttering about the lack of what's essentially always been at the heart of online flying after the Zone declined, coop missions running 24/7 on Hyperlobby's front page, whatever happened to coops we mumble listlessly and reach for the remote control. Did people stop creating coop missions. Did people stop flying online because it's summertime. Have I actually been flying on a Nigerian copy of Hyperlobby and even now is my Mastercard buying four club class return flights to Las Vegas

So with all that in mind

We're hoping/currently planning to fly Channel 1940 missions as an experiment on Monday at Hyperlobby around 21:00 UK time. Starting with the essential shipping strike as Channel is in the title. Then later the masts and the airfields and the Docks and- heady brew.

Hoping to complete the full canon of essential BoB missions eventually and then move on to where the war moved on to. A sort of baggage train then

If this sounds good in theory and you relish the opportunity to fly a shipping strike for the plucky Germans do be awfully kind would you and pop a note in here or at our squadron forum. If you'd rather fly for Winston of course we can swap sides and do it again. We have many pilots who enjoy sporting the yellow nose in an optional target drone role. Then swap over

We need more re-usable missions it's too stressful churning out new missions all the time. Ask Spike Milligan.

Participants in the upcoming test missions who enjoy it may also enjoy Etch-A-Sketch campaigns in future as we use every crayon in the book to colour in the battlefield scenes from Dover to Cairo using every trick in our colouring book. And Beyond yes that's correct you at the back

409b1m full-whack version jp with the additional crayons and canons [insert apostrophe: Editor]

4.08 is excellent as the base version, we're setting up a trial BoB to get a taste of what we're in for when Oleg delivers his flavoursome baby which will become the standard for the next five years I should think. To honour him in advance

Also a genius boffin bird tells me and nothing to do with Brigstock no pressure or anything and certainly no promises - that we can have user squadrons in a future campaign(s) so shout if you're thinking of flying your squadron-marked planes

If I do time for this I'm taking you all down with me

Aw... 21:00 GMT -6 = 15:00 start time. \:\(

I plan to be rubbing shoulders with vintage aircraft at that time (local air show, Flying Cloud airport southwest of Minneapolis if there's anyone close planning to attend).

Informal session only this one is Sandman, testing version compatibility works en masse with a view to full PreBOB campaigns eventually. You can set it up for your chaps too we'll be happy to help you do that by PM or over at our squadron forum. It's a prequel. Or as Chris describes it, a genuine imitation. We're genuine people we pay tribute to Oleg's deep combat flight-sim. And we pay tribute to the Friends of Oleg while we're at it, to the full canon of our Il-2 comradeship. To the virtual aviator and to forgiveness. Eventually

So how did it go??

~~~
I'll drop by your forums for some info (as noted).
RAF74 had a pre-BOB BOB event a little while back. Was fun, and I even managed to survive two missions in an ... umm... early Bf-110 model, made available by Friends of Oleg. \:\)
Sounds intresting.. time seems good, 22:00 my local time.. How long would these events take, well over 3 hours or?
Do you require any skills level? I only started flying this sim in Feb and I still feel like a rookie.. But I can fly semi level within +/- 10 deg and succesfully land 80% of the time with a 109 (which is my preferred AC).. Formation flying? Well, yes and no, only flown wing and then I forget all about flying when trying to keep formation!
If I can sign up, where do I?
Sounds interesting, hopefully I may join in the seat of a Heinkel ;\)
This one is about informal coop missions at Hyperlobby lacrits tomorrow evening
You'll need to prepare your Il-2 installation as we are testing a special version, you can find out more by PM or by calling in to our European Air Force squadron forum
We need to test that people who enjoy flying coop missions from the front page of Hyperlobby. It's not a war or anything official so don't worry about your flying skills
But speaking of honing one's flying skills and signing-up mate, you may want to check out our Swedish squadron forum at the EAF forums. Or the Scots squadron forum for Norway The C/O of the EAF is a delightful Swedish chap (and a virtual Ace) if you wish to take an opportunity to take part in virtual squadron life
Here we are-
http://www.europeanaf.org/forum/
addman I had a blast flying rear gunner in a Stuka while building missions for the special version- with outside views on it's like a movie as we're flying two very gorgeous maps. I'll drop the missions in here later for your amusement, I'm expecting to fly a couple of missions over and over online until we get it right
For any pilot wishing to fly these type of coop missions there will probably need to be some organising at your end for compatibility, which is why we're pressing on with just two maps and one special Il-2 version. PMs and EAF forum visits might be needed. Don't be discouraged if it all goes wrong the first few times. Firm chins chaps we'll get there eventually and still with the real BoB to come
Here's the two test missions. See if you can get them running ok from FMB's Play button. Jump into a Stuka gunner's seat pop on your cans and open a beer
Then check that there's 8 v 8 fighters in each mission by offline-hosting from Multiplay/Create Server/Coop. Little sub-edit job there for you
No takers lacrits
It's going to be a long road to Beachey Head even with fantastic new terrain textures like EAW's
No one said it would be easy Cheryl. We couldn't get Ursula Andress
