Question for the devs please

BoB II and AVG 8 seem to clash, is there any chance of a hot fix?

With AVG on the game hangs at the mission loading screen before the red progress bar appears

Turn AVG off from the task manager and everything is Ok, mission loads fine

This was pointed out on the Shockwave forum too so it is not just me

Obviously turning the virus checker off is not something I like to do as I have to re-boot after playing BoB

Perhaps you could add this to your list of roundtuits

Thanks

You might want to read this thread:

http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9678

We made no changes to BOBII to cause the problem with AVG8. The problem was caused with the new AVG8 release code which is causing BOBII to not load files or load them very slowly. I understand that AVG just released an update that speeds up the loading of files problem (V8 .0.138) but does not fix it. You might want to contact AVG8 to see if they have any plans to fix the problem.

Most of our customers have gone to using AVAST Anti-Virus Home Edition to avoid the AVG8 loading problems in BOBII.

Thanks - I very much appreciate the quick reply

I had not played BoB II for a while but 2.08 piqued my interest again and obviously in the meantime I had upgraded to AVG 8 by then.

I like AVG and feel safe with it so will stay with them and just have to turn her off when I fancy BoB........not a dealbreaker in any form

So its probably just a setting somewhere? Would be great if you can find out which one!

I never had the chance to see if AVG 8 clashed with BoB 2.08. I've been using AVG for years and never had any problems with it in conjunction with any sims or games, but recently AVG8 clashed with an update from AVG itself, rendering AVG completely useless and crippled. After trying an uninstall and reinstall of AVG to no avail, I swithched to Avast.

I have the problem as well. The initial load of BOBII with AVG8 takes upwards of 10 minutes. I suspect it may be a combination of AVG8 and Windows XP SP3. I installed both at nearly the same time and then encountered the problem with BOBII.
