Built my first system yesterday.
Q6600 DFI P35 MB Antec 1000watt Antec 1200case ATI 3870X2 (from old system) 4 gig ram 300 gig WD Raptor 10k Vista Ultimate 64-bit Total = $1,600
Works great. Only issue is with CH Manager. Put older version on system, can't get it to work. Unable to uninstall and install 4.30. Any thoughts?

Install older stuff by selecting the executable file and right-clicking it for Properties. You can then run the installer using Compatibility options from the tab. That'll rule out any Vista or x64 complications at least perhaps Good work Deacon, Vista x64 running Il-2 very nicely and everything else here. I had to boot to XP earlier to finalise some dual-boot business (reclaiming the XP real estate for Vista) and it's like the Stone Age. 1000W p/s blimey you mean business. Ooh Ultimate are you Bill Gates AMD new powerhouse due any minute hope you're not potless now. Get big fannage Ming

I'm going to try overclocking my 6700 when I summon up the nerve Tree. Little by little nothing precipitate, I've installed a big front fan blowing into the case. Up to 70C working flat out on the retail Intel cooler came with the CPU. 680i SLI EVGA mobo, not sure about fitting a more efficient heatsink/fan. I've had the CPU for a year so it's time to get the whip out now I've had some use of it. 3GHz with any luck from stock 2.6. At some point Ming

I'm in a very overcast London, 82% humidity. Tennis has a lot to answer for they've displeased the Rain Gods. Cure a drought? Organise a tennis tournament Thanks Tree very kind of you ta mate. Zalman that's the word, I've had a Flower on an earlier machine. I go back as far as valves it's not the complexity of the problem so much as the fear Just running an Ageia benchmark, RealityMark very nice. 41.5fps physics hardware, 2.8fps software. Can't get the PT Boats benchmark running under physics hardware yet even though it ran ok under software last time before installing the card. Drivers for hardware physics are in a bit of a mess. To be expected, NVidia will sort it out eventually Please get on board the hardware physics love train Oleg. Pick one up (BFG) while they're cheap. And available Ming
