The Blue Steel was a Mach 2.3 nuclear attack missile deployed with the Vulcan bomber by the RAF in the early 60's. Soviet SAM capabilities had become sophisticated enough at the time that the RAF felt they needed a stand off attack capability with the Vulcan instead of just free fall nuclear bombs. If I recall correctly, the missile had a range of about 50 nm.

Thanks in advance.

I'll put one up on CA for you once I've tested it. Should be up in a day or so.

You'll need:
Vulcan B2 (obviously): http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/Skunworks.html
Vulcan B2 Skin Pack (gives the Vulcan SRAM capability): http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=5471
Operation Rubicon (as the scenario): http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=6299

You'll be using SRAMs (nearest equivalent to Blue Steel in the TW series) to knock out a Soviet carrier in Rostock harbour - ok?

Regards, comrpnt.

PNT/comrpnt:

Thanks very much, old chap.

I just asked MI6 to send the word out through their non-discreet eastern block channels that Rostock should be evacuated. As soon as I receive the ordnance from you, I will flatten Rostock.

Regards,
Swordsman

Almost there Swordsman...

WIP pictures from a simple test I did in WOE to prove that I could arm a B2 Vulcan with a psuedo-Blue Steel missile - aka "rebadged SRAM".

Ignore the specifics of the target I choose for these pictures. The mission against the Soviet fleet at Rostock is still on - I just need to tweak a few waypoints then it's all done. I'll confirm CA posting here when I get it uploaded. Another 24 hours I expect.

Cheers, regards, comrpnt.

Well bugger me backwards old man, you do good work! I'd best wake the chaps in the ready room. Now where did I put those flash curtains?

Okay, I've uploaded the new mission pack at CA. Should be here when it's approved: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=6779

You have two scenarios to consider - one extends Operation Rubicon with an attack on the Soviet Northern fleet at Rostock naval yard, the other knocks out a regional Command & Control facility at Wittstock air base.

Here are a few screen shots:

Scenario 1 - Rostock naval yard

The aftermath...

Scenario 2 - regional Command & Control facility at Wittstock AB

The aftermath (part 2)...

Regards, comrpnt.

Fabulous effort. One of the things I appreciate most about your stuff are the detailed mission briefings.

Thanks so much. Now again, where did I put those flash curtains?
