I'm sure that the game interface will be a little nicer than in IL2. I'm sure they will have good campaigns, including training campaigns. But I can't imagine any role-playing beeing implemented. It's a flight simulator after all.

What exactly is "Role Playing"? I'm not being sarcastic, I've never played one. What elements or features does a role playing combat sim have.

Role Playing--as in, you are playing a role in a certain environment (think Dungeons and Dragons--where you play a role as a wizard, or elf, or something.) I can't imagine how it would apply to flight sims, unless you are playing the role of the pilot, obviously. Role playing games tend to be set in Middle Earth type adventure scenarios, or sci-fi, like the game "Mass Effect". You are essentially playing a character in a story. As you play the game, and make decisions, the story progresses.

Take a worrying hint from ToW. How long was that in development for? How much hype surrounded it? Then the reality of the 'finished' product.
On my SoW anticipation-meter the needle is hovering around the zero mark I'm afraid. There will be no role-playing experience. What you'll get is another sterile exercise in technical/graphical brilliance with about as much soul as a brick (IL2 Mk2).
Sorry to sound harsh, but I've seen nothing to make me think otherwise. You aren't having a good day are you! You are coming out with negative comments regarding KoTS forums too.. Are you sure you actualy like flight sims? Are you in fact Victor Meldrew?? Hang on.. it's only a joke mate, I don't want to be responsible for you being found swinging in the garage!!

Yes, he's put on quite a few pounds but I'd hardly call him a whale. Our man in Berlin was made of iron, after all.
Unless you mean the one in the North Sea. It was made of steel. Several smallish bits of canvas and string with detachable weights should be all that is required to net it.
(practicing my Minglish...how am I doing?)
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."

I wouldn't doubt Ming has written a book or two, but I'm just glad my teacher never had us do a book report on one.;)

It's funny you should say that BBQ (and very nice of you too thanks) on professional work you remind me that a while back I offered to sub-edit the KotS scripts for VikS after seeing something rocky somewhere - to be sure that there'd be no embarrassments anywhere for him and his team in the game screens and so on, we know those guys are amazing but they aren't native English-speakers I think - and maybe VikS thought I was taking the mickey or something. You decide Ming
