Been on receiving end of cheat suspicions many times. Sadly, I've only been accused once. But I did get an .ntrk of it! (Btw, guess what next article I'm finishing up this week?)

Well Jay.. I wont say it is impossible.. but I wouldn't worry about it... because there really isn't anything you can do about it if it was cheating... other than fly elsewhere. Most of the folks who fly in this sim are older guys who really don't have the time for the kiddie boy "get my rocks off at any cost" BS that is cheating in online games.. Particularly flight sims... but I imagine in any kind of competitive game or simulation where you really really really have to devote a bit of time to the craft in order to become proficient (as oppose to having the right mods, finding the right "code" or learning the right sequence of keystrokes) , being able to beat your chest because you learned the plane.. and out flew your opponent.. even if it all done silently in your own head .. and everybody does it when the get that "breather kill" anyone who says the don't is lying.. because thats what this is all about.. is much more gratifying than hacking he sim in order to "beat someone" online. IMO cheating is like masturbation masquerading as sex.. call it what it is... and with the plethora of line opponents available online who DO have scruples and would rather beat you ... or loose... fair & square.. if you see something shady just... move on.
I find more enjoyment in COOPS.
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

Hey Bearcat - Great to hear from you ! It is your Nuggets Guide which has given me more info than the official manual that came on the DVD. As for your comments - I almost completely agree with them. I chose the IL2 community and flight sims in general because in part, I heard that the average simmer was older and more mature, and that it took some real skill and patience in order to fly your warbird correctly (Lord knows this is true to even get one kill with the F4U Corsair online). And generally this is what I have found by and large. I only posted these threads because it seems like the greatest amount of newbies would troll either here or at Ubisoft in order to get good info about the game and online play, and should be aware that there are some folks out there who are not shooting straight.
I also went ahead and reported this to Dart (along with the time, server, date and all the details) and maybe he or some of the other senior editors can investigate and if warranted, open up a line of communication directly to Oleg Maddox or his staff.
I will keep flying on Hyperlobby just for fun, but my eyes were really opened this morning.
Jay

On another note, I guess I am just an idiot or what not, but I just went back now and realized what that sticky post is all about that mentions 'the Hack". When I logged on two months ago to become a member, I just looked it for a second, didn't realize what everyone was talking about and figured I would understand at a later date (at that point, just getting my joystick to work correctly was taking time and research). Now, I understand. I did not even realize there was this huge hotbed of sentiment about mods and hacks until I heard back from so many other simmers in the last few days. My only intention was to point out to new people who might be in their first weeks or months of working with IL2 that there are some fishy things which may be going on with the online community and they should at least be aware that there is that element out there (and what it may look like if you meet it). I was just thinking of my own initiation into IL2 and the learning curve, and I know at least for my own knowledge, that it would have been very helpful if this type of stuff had been mentioned in the Newbies Sticky or somewhere else prominently. (In much the same manner that I flew along for the first day or two in online combat and slowly began to realize that I never saw any Corsairs, but many, many La-7s - that tip alone would have saved me being shot down at least a hundred times Jay

It's a Defiant! On a more sober note, the company that designed the gun turret for the Defiant does some contract programming at work, eeek....!

kind of hard to prove but some of the new ones out there could definatly be seen in ntrks, like me262 engine lights on a 190 lol. Im sure if you took those ntrks and sent them to jiri he would ban people for cheating or have one of his hidden mods take charge of something like that being hes a very busy guy and wouldnt have time reviewing tracks.
