Hi there

Got a weird problem with my FFB2 joy stick, some times playing online the force feed back input sort of switches its self off half way though a game. I loses all feeling expert for the wind turbulences and bumps from landing or crashing.

When I exit Il2 after this happens the MSFFB2 works fine, tried reinstalling drives, checked that I haven't pulled the power out and that the computer sees it.

Hope some one can help, thanks

Happens to me but only if I go into desktop ( to tweak trackir for instance) then back to the game.

Seems to work OK if I am in menu first and not actually in a mission.

Use the 'Search' option for 'MSFFB2' and you´ll get a 'Bible' of answers \:\) Pick a good beer, some snacks and have plenty of time to read a lot of ideas, some fairly good ones.

ALT+TAB out and back into IL-2 - that'll fix it \:\)

I had that happen if I accidentally hit the windows button in-game. When I alt-tabbed back, no FFB. I found 2 solutions:
1. Get a screwdriver and pop the Windows button off your keyboard (seriously!)
2. If you hit the Windows button, don't let it go; select another button such as the alt key, then let them both go, and the Windows button gets cancelled-out.

Check out HardBall's Aircraft Viewer. "This is an invaluable asset for all IL-2 aficionados", PC Pilot Magazine, May 2006.

Or download some software that'll turn off the windows key. Or use an MS keyboard and the Intellipoint software that lets you disable the Windows key.

Personally ... I just don't push that button unless I mean to \:D

There is another solution:
if you lose ffb (after accidentally switch to another app or desktop), just land, hit refly, arming, select another plane, hit apply, hit arming again, select your plane, apply and fly. And ffb is back
Sometimes it is necessary to do this procedure twice

I have found that as long as I switch to "Game Mode - Deny All" on my Zonealarm firewall, the problem never happens (unless I hit Windows or Alt-Tab as others have said.)

I looks like ZA might be trying to open a pop-up warning window and Il2 doesn't like anything other than full control of the screen.

Thanks for the replies, just had this problem again when a spit put some bullets in my wing. So did what Tomik said an it sort of worked but the Fw190 type I was flying had lost all ffb but other planes the ffb came back.... strange

Any way thanks again.
