No, no, it was New Wave.

Sort of kindly description: Punk Rock for kids who still love their mothers.

Less Kindly, from my Mom at the time: "Oh, it's Country sped up and played with computers."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQyClNEfncg

Goodness, I love those early movie videos. Nobody knew what they were supposed to be like, MTV still played music, and they were for entertainment as much as commercialism. Or maybe they thought that commercialism through entertainment was a good technique.

We seemed to be less the angry young men and more the bored-but-looking-for-truly-harmless-fun young men.

And we could definately relate to "turning Japanese." Rural Alabama isn't exactly the center of permissiveness.

Well Flyretired it wasn't you . Was Ming but the be patient thing doesn't help much either . I know it's hard work and I know it takes patients but why weekly update and then nothing ???? Like I said before it's better to delay the game a few months and take that extra time and throw the kids a bone once in awhile .

If I was developing a game or anything for that matter I would keep interested parties informed .

To just expect people to sit around and be patient is not fair to customers .

Folks, I'm going to continue to merge new threads that are really just replies to this one until I get annoyed.

Then I'm going to merge them and then edit comments to something downright snarky.

Could I have an example of a snarky comment? It sounds....snarky \:D

[edit]

In nature, a babboon will show it's rear end to everyone else for a couple reasons: because it's changed color, which is a neat trick, and to impress the opposite sex.

On the Internet, people do the same thing. But they don't have a good reason for it: they just want to show their rear ends to everyone.

The Psychiatrist Is [ IN ]

Tired of waiting on this thing

Travelling hopefully is better than arriving

It's not really waiting is it. Already being thirsty and standing around until the water lorry arrives is waiting.

It's more luxuriating in the thought of flying over the Somme soon with the sun sparking off the water trying not to plough through the cooling clinging low-lying morning mist rising. Blipping the throttle and turning to follow a railway line, thumbs-up to a friendly farmer neck muscles finally warming up and ducking down to pancake on some foreign field

On the Internet... they just want to show their rear ends to everyone

And this surprises you why. It's either bird-watching or butt-watching your choice. Why not enjoy yourself and make a feature out of it, have you learned nothing from your wife

Well "patience" and "patient" are often related. ;\)

To paraphase a recent statement by GT/neoqb's FB LOFT:

However, what to make? Oleg proposes as one of the versions the theme of the First World War. We study and we find the possibilities interesting. We obtain the code of IL2 and we take up work.

In all of us, the programmers, in the designers, in the artists, we had the ambition, and certainly the creativity. And here in the Spring of 2006 we began the development of our own simulation.

After 2 years of development, the results only approached the completion of the sim's Engine. There is no game yet to speak of. As a result of this, the leadership faces the fact that there is an insufficiency for continued financing. We ate the chosen budget but without material results. After difficult considerations the leadership makes the decision to work without money (which involved some 20 team members), while the search for new investors continued. It was half a year before a new investor was found.

Now we find ourselves at the stage of a change in companies. It does not simply depend on the leadership's drive, but on business demands, and these can be as wild as nature, and it is necessary to survive from these early beginnings, where 90% of all projects fail, especially if a project is presented to a publisher prematurely, which often occurs in the Russian market in particular.

All proceeding events have turned out positive now, we survived and now actually have more experience as a result.

That's the entire but brief history of the GT company, and now the remaining membership of GT becomes part of the new company, forming part of the history of neoqb.

Rough and tumble for sure, but these guys always displayed great drive and ambition (and maybe that bit of luck too).

(I'm sure official details will follow)

It is silly to speculate. Be patient - that's what GT is telling us. So be patient.

when the Holy Grail is in sight, it is hard to be patient.

I came too late to the party for the Red Baron series, but had a blast with Rowan's fling with WWI era engagements.

To have a high fidelity equivalent of that,,,well.

LOL, I have been told on a number of occasions that I make her feel "uncomfortable" by the way I'm looking at her. Especially when she's in her little workout gig. Always a lady, it's not overtly racy or anything, but dang if it doesn't send the mind to carnal places.

And "showing one's @ss" is a Southernism. You know, like in Birmingham. The one with the steel mills that have mostly shut down.

We've been talking about FSX Cas, does OFF run under FSX? Hope so I've just got FSX for the KotS addon, very nice too it is

I have run OFF a while back, didn't like it much under the earlier MSFS. But we're running out of options

To clear up any confusion, OFF (Over Flanders Field ) is an add on for CFS3. Not FS9 or FSX.
Having said that, the add on becomes like a stand alone sim. It looks nothing like CFS3 and is light years away ( ahead ) of CFS3.
It is probably the best looking flight sim there is , so far.
You will need to have CFS3, which you load and run a flight ONCE. Then you install OFF ( which you have downloaded , for free!)
Then you play the WW1 sim and enter battle - Quick flight combat, missions and a dynamic campaign, whichever you wish - about ten planes each side to choose from.
trackir 6DOF runs superbly in the sim.
The low down terrain graphics are better than any sim, including FSX.

There are straightforward, clear install instructions on the Over Flanders Field website.
It was written for, and runs best on, XP, but will run on Vista also.

The present version is called Phase 2. That version is free, as i have already said.

There is an improved version reasonably imminent, which will be payware- nominal.
It will be distributed on DVD and will thus be a straightforward install from the DVD.
It will still need CFS3 loaded to use it.
As I understand it, it is hoped by the Devs that the funds realized from the sale of Phase 3 will
enable a version to be written on its own " engine", thus eliminating the requirement to use CFS3.

The main website forum for OFF is at Sim Outhouse forums. Look for the CFS3 forum and it is a sub- forum of that - which i venture to suggest is a bigger forum than the CFS3 one ! -lol.

Well tired of hearing "This Dec" for the last 2 years and now again. Game isn't coming out.
What other games are out there in flight sim arena worth playing . Is the Battle Of Britain game coming out or is it a vapor fume also.
How about the Pacific area??
