An enormous improvement. This has been needed for a long, long time. Thanks to all involved. Great work.

Screens plz
Im waiting untill 4.09 proper to install, but I assume the stationary planes get the face lift too? It will be good untill a 3rd party mod that allows changes and we can choose our own defaults(hack or not im sure it will happen) Stationary aircraft will have the new default skins as well.

I don't get the default new skins, I haven't noticed any thing different! Other than placing the new folders over the others is there anything else? Hmm... CS

The new defaults are in the second package ... hardcoded into a SFS file. Not all aircraft have gotten a facelift - just the german and native soviet fighters, the Il-2 and the italian aircraft.

Well... Fw190A-4 and -5 'feel' to be a bit too dark to me.

Getting JG 54 colours "right" is a science in itself. I looked at the few available colour shots and quite convinced that the colours match what I saw there. But of course colour perception differs from person to person, from monitor to monitor. It's something we can't avoid.

I like the new skins very much, they are a definite improvement over the old ones. Unfortunately I have to agree to Caspar, the early Fw190As (A-4 & A-5) are much to dark, camo und underside as well. The whole color setting looks pretty dull to me. The A-6 is just marginally better (lighter).
It would have been better to use a generic camo that would have also fit the JG51 ( which was using the Fw190 in the east as well ).

I haven't noticed any thing different!
That was my first impression also, but for a different reason: I've been using skins by these guys for years. If you have BoE or have been using Enjoyr's campaign+skin patches you've already been seeing high-quality skins by these artists. Take a look at the 109s and 190s, etc., in the game's Object Viewer and you'll see the improvements right away. If you still aren't getting the new skins in the game, make sure you are transferring the fb_3do20.sfs (name typed from memory) into your game folder after you apply the beta patch files. I think both the 4.09m beta and the skins patch have a version of this file. Also, I believe that 3do.sfs file is new to the 4.09 patch so if you're trying to use the new skins with 4.08 it won't be recognized.

Too dark? Some other skinners would disagree. Claes Sundin The problem is that both JG 51 and JG 54 used similar camouflage styles on the early 190s. However, in both cases, colours are subject of a long dispute which probably won't ever be solved to everyone's satisfaction.

It's not that you can just call the RLM colors too "dark", they just look very drab and dull, not even the yellow (RLM 04 or 27) looks "real". The whole skins looks like a dark veil was drawn over them.
BTW, I have this Claes Sundin skin of Bully Langs Fw190A-5 as well and I think the colors of his skin are brighter and lighter.
