Danke schön für diese gute Nachricht!

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

So far, it's not blowing my dress up. I'm still getting frame rates in the teens with my rig over urban areas and it has about the same scenery quality as FS2002 (a turned down FS2002). I'm letting FSX handle any graphics sweetness, turning off all AA and AF options on my GFX card.

My specs:

AMD Athlon64 X2 4400+
2GB PC3200 DDR
Radeon X1900XTX 512MB (PCI-E)

I'm sorry, but I can max out all the sliders and get FS2004 to look REALLY good. This is ridiculous.

You should out"graphic" FS9 by far with that rig.

Try the threads I mentioned in my second post on this site:

That isn't an entirely true statement. Like I've always said..out of the box FSX blows away FS9. But once you add in Active Sky, something like Ground Environment, and a few other free or payware mods..FS9 can indeed eclipse FSX. Personally..I like FSX...but with all that is available for FS9 it isn't any wonder that people aren't blown away by FSX...

Does it fix the "Error 1772" re-installation issue? The official 'fix' did-not-work and I havn't played this game since it came out practically. I feel robbed. very annoyed.

After some research, I was able to find and compile the following that
might help others...

Overview
Flight Simulator X Service Pack 2 addresses these post-release customer concerns:
1. Multiplayer compatibility (compat with FSX-Acceleration and FSX-SP2)
2. DirectX® 10 preview

download here:
http://www.fsinsider.com/downloads/Pages/FlightSimulatorXServicePack2.aspx

Second download site:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...&displaylang=en

- IMPORTANT: If you have already installed Flight Simulator X: Acceleration expansion pack, do not install Service Pack 2.

- IMPORTANT: You must install Service Pack 1 before installing Service Pack 2.

Notes:

Service Pack 2 does not include the code updates required to use the new Flight Simulator X: Acceleration aircraft. You must purchase and install Flight Simulator X: Acceleration to use those aircraft.
After you have installed Service Pack 2, you will be able to play multiplayer games only with users who have installed either Service Pack 2 or Flight SimulatorX: Acceleration.

Instructions
Download the service pack to the existing Flight Simulator X installation.

The service pack is one download per supported language. It detects Standard versus Deluxe SKUs and installs appropriately.

Your Flight Simulator X installation must have all original files unchanged: a repair may be necessary if you have changed any files.

Service Pack 2 Installation Notes:
After you install Service Packs 1 and 2, do not reinstall Service Pack 1.
If install SP2 and later purchase Flight Simulator X: Acceleration, you must uninstall SP2 before installing Acceleration.
If you install Flight Simulator X on a computer running the 64-bit Vista operating system, the Setup progress bar may not indicate progress during the installation. The program still installs correctly on this operating system.
It may appear that the progress bar is paused for a long time during DirectX installation. The installation is actually progressing but the Setup program does not indicate the progress.
When the time expires in demo mode after installing Flight Simulator X plus Acceleration or the service packs, attempting to activate the product may result in a dialog box that appears to be frozen. Press ALT+TAB to bring the active window to the front to continue product activation.
If you have problems installing Flight Simulator X Service Pack 2, close all open software applications including antivirus software before running Setup.
