There is a demo! so why ED does not release it like any other new game that comes out to the market?
I think it would be a good advertising for Black Shark and a lot of people would want to buy it if they will play the demo.

Both demos and distributable ones are two very different things.

A demo might be released near the completion date. It depends on time available.

But there is a demo already so why not release it? I realy don't understand ED's attitude, they don't say anything about Black Shark release date ("when it's done"), they have a demo that people already play it but will not release it, and they keep Lock-On's code closed, just think of all the wonderful add-ons that could have been made
(F/A-18...) fore the sim.

Well i hope Black Shark will be out "when it's done" some where in the year 2008.

There have been a few aeroplane/scenery mods over the years. Take a look at the Mods section at LockOn.ru

If there is a demo out, in whatever form, I guess BS can't be too far away now.

I know about the mods and i have most of them, i'm talking about aircraft add-on, a complete aircraft with its own flight model and cockpit and not a mod that just looks like you are flying an F-16 when you are actually flying MIG-29, and it would be nice to have 6DOF for TrackIR, if it was possible to make 6DOF in Falcon 4 so maybe it possible to do it to Lock-On's airplanes as ED did with Ka-50 in Black Shark.

I want the demo, please.

I don't mean to assume, but if you've ever worked on an important project that would be released to the public after its finished, you'd understand why they're tight lipped. A demo at this point would be counter-productive. After all, its not done.

ED has nothing to lose. People are going to buy it no matter how much they prattle on about loosing interest. I hope they keep quietly working on LOBS, work out the problems, add some polish, and truly release it when "its done".

I didn't spend enough time with the sim in Moscow to verify what kind of version number or code quality it was.

It looked stable, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't a late beta version like Thomas said. It seemed non-restricted in functionality whereas a Demo would be restricted.

Guys at MAKS this was a demo of the simulation.

Not a demo like demos you can download. Besides it was a simple flight model demonstration.

O.K thank you, i thought that it was a real demo, well hopefully ED will release a demo soon and right after the whole game.

There is no demo.... This issue has already been discussed at the Lock On web sight...
As far as BS, it seems that its been finished. What's actually holding up the release is "window dressing".. There will be a better representation of trees and ground objects.. This did need to be updated to increase the immersion factor concerning the close in air to ground aspect.
And they're working on implementing a new Dynamic Mission Builder along with new splash screens, There was a "set back" concerning these issues last month which has again caused another delay..
So if you think that you might want add this to your Holiday Wish List, chances are that you're going to be disapointed bigtime...
As far as a demo being released, I think I remember when Flaming Cliffs went gold it was followed by a demo about 2 weeks later...
Anyway I hardly ever fly on line and I really want and a Dynamic Mission Builder ... So I'll gladly wait until that's been implemented...

Thanks for the update Blaze. I am anxious for Black Shark but I would much rather prefer that ED take their time and release a game which has more polish to it.

To tell you the truth i prefer that ED will polish Lock-On than having Black Shark, i'm not so thrilled about flying a helicopter, don't get me wrong i think it is great to have a new sim from ED but i prefer to fly the F-15 Eagle or the SU-27 Flanker any day no matter how good the helicopter simulator is, we already have a great simulator it just need some more polish (Polish, as in more complete): Better design looking planes... "a fully-3D cockpit modeled at an unprecedented level of detail, an Advanced Flight Model that will provide the most realistic flight dynamics of any commercial simulator, an advanced physics and damage model that accounts for all manner of battle damage, a mouse-interactive cockpit that allows players to interact with the cockpit�s many controls using their mouse, and a six degrees of freedom (6DOF) cockpit that takes advantage of TrackIR 3 Pro Vector viewing system..."

Is this too much to ask for? If it is so "polish" at least just one plane the F-15 (or the SU-27), make it as good as the Ka-50, believe me it will sell more copies than Black Shark, please think about it.
