Is it possible to run F4AF widescreen 1690 x 1050 with stock pit ?
I see the selection there in the graphics setup tab however with this set I still get Balck bars either side of the main image.

I assume you mean 1680x1050, for a dedicated widescreen cockpit see here: http://www.simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2327099#Post2327099

The default AF pits are all 4:3 and are not widescreen, running them in widescreen mode will cut off parts you may need like MFD's.

I get black bars on the side in the 2d pit in 1360x768.

1360x768 is not a regular and standard resolution.

See here for a list with the current standards: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_display_standard

If you are using the F4:AF default pits (4:3) you will get black bars when using a widescreen monitor.

If you are using the F-16CJ widescreen pit (16:10) in 16:10 or 16:9 resolutions on a widescreen monitor, these will be gone.
1280×720 (16:9) or 1280x800 (16:10)seems like a good res for you in that case.

Well, it's actually 1366x768, but the common resolution used the most for this on graphics cards is 1360x768. Formally a standard or not, it's the most common LCD resolution I see and has widespread support. It's been in Falcon since like 1.06 or 9. It's just that the black bars are present in the 2D pit with the default panel. 3D pit is fine, though we all know that mode is not clickable. I can also use 1920x1080 on my flat panel, which will scale it. So will the pit I just got from you last night work in widescreen properly in 1360/1366x768 or 1920x1080? I could use a lower resolution than native like 720p, but would rather not. I thought in the thread on your upgrade that you said the widescreen modes in F4 would work, just in varying levels of correctness. Right now after I put your upgrade in, only 1920x1200 shows your textures...and all messed up, at that, with the textures all towards the right side.

The resolutions you mention, present or not in earlier versions are not standards, and cockpits need to make use of standards, no way around that I am afraid.

The widescreen pit is originally a 16:10 pit in 1920x1200 res. It scales down to lower 16:10 resolutions and works ok too in 16:9 resolutions. I can not vouch for more odd non standard resolutions...
Have you tried the closest 16:10 res to your native screen res ? That should give the best result imo. If your monitor handles 1920x1200 and displays it that is the best ofcourse. from there on resolutions like 1680x1050, 1440x900, 1280x800 are the next.

Weird problems I'm having with it. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled from scratch up to 1.012; then added your cockpit upgrade. It shows your F16C50-Aeyes folders inside the 1920 folder in cockpit art. But I cannot get your cockpit to show up at all in any resolution. I was looking at your pics and they show a distinct UFC keypad. What I'm seeing is the stock cockpit and it still has the black bars on the side. What is the F-16CJ? Is that the block 50 viper, do I have to download that upgrade separately, or is that specifically only in one of the campaigns? I've been using dogfight to test this cockpit.

On a side note, since 1.09 I've been very pleased with the inclusion of a proper helmet mounted sight that you don't have to use padlock with. Not as good as TAW's, but certainly in the same league as LOMAC's. But since 1.09 I've had issues with sounds and voices repeating and stuttering. It's the only piece of software that does this. The reinstall and upgrade to 1.012 didn't fix it.

I saw you found the cure by selecting the add-on cockpit in the UI ;\)

Have a good flight
