I was wondering today, a complete momment of non sense. I was flying jane's F-18, and i just started to think, is it anyway possible to transfor falcon 4.0 to ...lets say Hornet 1.0 hehe, I know, theres a way to fly every aircraft in the sim, or use redviper, open falcon and other addons, but I meant in a full way, FM, cockpit, everything related to F-18 like Falcon 4.0 is...

Would Lead Pursuit even be interested? You know, a Hornet dynamic campaign would be REALLY interesting, or even an F-15! Specially if it is the Super Hornet, that would be...a dream! hahaha...i guess what they need to do is, carrier operation, cockpits, fm, avionics and if possible OIF campaign... :P

They did? I'm happy now! \:D
Do you know which engine they are going to use? If its a different engine than falcon 4.0, I hope we get a dynamic campaign!

I *think* it was from an interview from some computer show...

I would be all over a combat sim that were dx9/10 graphics with fidelity of falcon set in the korean war era, where you fly F-86's. I know that SF series has these jets, but I don't like the flight modeling in SF. No trim etc. plus I don't find that sim very immersive. I would love fly an F-86 with the same kind of detail that Falcon has...probably never going to happen, but I'd buy it in a second. \:\)

I sure hope this is the case -- I have also heard this rumor, but have never seen anything in print to confirm it. Makes good sense, though.... and I would sure love that if were the case.

An LP exec was speaking at E3 2006.

http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_vi...ml?id=1698157n :

'currently in the early development stages of a new product based on F4..."

- A new flyable aircraft COULD be available (some possible liscensing & IP issues however, so would not name which one)
- LP exec spoke about improving/expanding carrier ops ('vastly superior naval combat simulations'), modelling subs, etc.
- enhancements to ground units, "which are a currently a little bit dumb...", better ground AI.

So they at least say there WILL be a new product, which is good.

I wonder if they will say something public again at this years E3... when will that be? Ah never mind - it was a couple weeks ago. I guess LP didn't say anything then.

The next sim needs to model either an F15E, Tornado, or A10. Mudmovers just don't get enough respect

Looking at the interview he seemed to have placed a big *if* on the introduction of another aircraft. I suspect that you won't find something like that in the first release. Adding a new aircraft is difficult - especially if it were to be a carrier aircraft.

I think you'll see a new Falcon come out. Then later an add-on for the new aircraft with new campaigns included that would highlight that particular aircraft's unique profile.

I think he would not even mention the new flyable aircraft if he wasn't 80% sure it will happen. He's just being extra careful, I suspect. Remember Graphsim also had a F/A-18 sim, so they might be looking to implement that. I hope so.

We all want to see a new top end sim. I hope to see carrier ops before I fly the pine box

Just to be clearer, I didn't say it wasn't going to happen - just maybe not in the initial release. Maybe they could call it Watery Cliffs or something (or Spraying Cliffs) ;\)

If the new sim is as sophisticated and detailed as this one (or hopefully even more) I don't think they'll be able to model multiple aircraft. Especially for an addon which usually is published fast (like in a year from release or so). Even if the F-16 is the main plane, they have tons of info and a very good base to work on. But to build say an F-18 from scratch in year or even two (to be included in an addon) and have the level of detail that F4 has (FM, avionics etc) is nigh on impossible.

Today I was thinking about this...again! I was looking for a mod to transform CSF3 into a modern sim, but, as far as I know...or searched, there is none. So after thinking about it a little, I believe it's not going to be easy to make a modern radar, HUD and other stuff in CSF3, so I gave up.

Besides fighter ops, theres not another flight sim available, and from what I've been reading from FO, I'm kind of disappointed, I guess the golden "age" of modern combat flight sim is gone... Sure there is the Strike Fighters and its spin-offs, but it's not the same thing.

I played a little the F/A-18 ODS/OIF, and looking at it... I thought: "This is bad, couldn't they upgrade the models a little bit? textures? Instant Action at least!? " ... After a while I felt even more depressed, damn cravings for a nice flight sim! I think anyone who enjoys flight sims, and has it as a big hobby, will feel or have felt this damn cravings sometimes.

ps: TSH team, you are my heroes, working in a .exe and still being able to upgrade JF-18, congratulations.

I for one would hope that LP would still have F-16s in the next version, and add on a Hornet or others if they want. It'd just be such a waste of all the research into flight models and avionics to just throw it away and climb the hill all over again for another airplane. I say keep the F-16! Semper Viper!
